FUCK SIDES. with a president like this America needs to stop being so divided by this bullshit 2-party system... I'm tired of all this "do you want the puppet on the left, or the puppet on the right" BS. Lewis Black said it nicely-

I feel a sense of, I'm not quite sure, perhaps schadenfreude, at the events of the last few days. It's pretty much what I said was going to happen when the dems got control of the house & senate last November.

For 6 months, they've been talking huge about a revolution, about putting Bush in check. They were going to issue a mandate, they talked huge. When it came time to put up or shut up, Bush told them to whip it out. They did, all 1 1/2 limp inches of it, and they pissed on their shoes.

No one has a fucking clue about what to do in Iraq at this point. With the amount of stupid vitriol and outright ridiculous comments and attacks on Bush made by various Congressmen & Senators towards Bush and his administration, there's no way in hell that he will ever capitulate or listen to any of the Dems, and the Dems have proven that they don't have a clue or the balls to do anything else.

Nothing is going to change in Iraq, we're stuck with this psuedo-Jim Baker style of foreign policy that worked fine under Reagan because we had a clear-cut enemy. The current Iraq policy is what should have been implemented in '91. The results and current actions would probably not be much different, but we would have had some international backing in the matter. As such, they waited 12 years and instead of UN soldiers playing policeman, we get US troops.

Yea, it's a crappy plan, but it's the only plan. The dems just proved that. They had the chance to throw down their hand, and they proved that they were holding nothing. They blew their wad, and now they're proper fucked.

Good stuff. Unbiased truth in this post. I dontknow which are worse anymore.... the republicans who fuck up royally, or the dems who havent the balls to let it happen and fail to correct it. This whole ordeal has made me far more independent than I ever was.

Exactly, they fight until theres a threat to their power, then you see how quickly they put THEIR shit side to make sure it stays 2 parties. Ive lost most of my faith and ALL of my respect for this government. Not saying any other one is better, but I live here, not in Sweden.

Wont happen. The current "road to the white house" needs to be a popularity/beauty contest shitfest. No one of worth will even graze the presidency. Patriotism is gone (unless you call sitkcing yellow ribbon stickers everywhere patriotism), and everyone just wants to drive around in their SUV's watching American Idol. Its not about the collective anymore. The generations that followed the WWII (fucking balls the size of grapefruits, if you ask me) have gotten progressively fruitier and more spoiled. No one gives a fuck cuz they think it doesnt affect their way of life. Shit, even in the hippie era with whats going on (which is worse than Vietnam) people would be completely outraged and marching and actually DOING shit to make a difference. Not now.
