It's not hick Mariano... and I can see how you would say that (even in jest). It's that certain things provide us with the ability to have this discussion, and I think people loose sight of that. I'm not saying that Kevin is in the wrong for having his viewpoints, but I am saying that calling someone hick for wanting to defend their country and it's symbol/values ect is a little bit strong?

I wasnt trying to be offensive and I see your point, but I was referring to his "middle america?" attitude about fuck the rest, were the best. Thats a gang mentality and I used to have it about my ethnicity, my city, my coast, my neghborhood, and its just unrealistic. By that logic, everyone should be out to fuck the other guy. Thats not a world Id ideally want for myself or my children, and I know living in a world where everyone respects eachother (especially with the fucking fanatics on every side) wont happen, but theres no use perpetuating the "fuck everyone" attitude. Lets not forget that many times its in the US's interest to help countries. So then it can count on them as an "ally" and not commiserate with governments we consider hostile. It all comes down to money and power, democrats AND republicans. And that whole liberal media shit is hilarious, Im sorry. We've deposed out fair share of democratically elected officials to suit our interests, so all this "spread the democracy" horseshit is an insult.

Oh no, you did NOT bring The Oprah into this. She is one of the most hypocritical people of the modern century. Look for her recent comments about how "she has fantastic white folk working for her." She gives a new face to racism. She tries to help people to break free of racism, but pushes the ideas herself.

I'm not aware of these comments, but it doesn't seem logical for her to be racist considering that most of her constituency and fanbase consists of young adult and middle aged white women.

Im so tired of seeing fucking commercials for starving kids in Africa and how we should send them money, when I can drive downtown and see homeless people as well as starving kids just a few miles from my house with no one doing anything about it.

But the difference is that many African governments are so corrupt that the residents have no choice when it comes to being poor. Unlike in third-world countries , the homeless people in the US are that way as a result of the choices that they made.

Its not always about the choices they made, not everyone comes from a well to do home or good family life, I feel even if they made these choices they deserve to be helped first since they our on our own soil. Who are we to go trim the neighbors yard, but leave our looking like shit with cars up on blocks...to me its a little hypocrtical to do that.

I cannot believe how cold people can be to those in our own country yet want to give everything to those that flip us off as soon as we turn our backs.

That is COMPLETE bullshit and a total copout. You don't know that, and you haven't talked to those people. There are a myriad of circumstances that cause people to become homeless.

And on the flip side, in this great country, they have more opportunities than ever to get back on their feet (for the most part). Standing on a street corner is not one of them.
