I was watching a story on TV the other day (and yeah, you can't believe most of what you see on TV) and they were talking about how the soldiers have been using scrap metal from other explosions to reinforce the Humvees so that they would be resistant to bomb attacks and also about how the soldiers do not have adequate protective equipment. One guy featured in the story explained how he had to buy his son a flack jacket because the military was not providing him with one.

Maybe the guy has a non-combat position and maybe the bomb attacks are not frequent enough to warrant getting bomb proof Humvees but when the VP gets on TV and says, "We are looking into the possibility of getting more bullet proof vests for the troops and better protection for their vehicles, blah blah blah..." I have to ask why they didn't think of this ahead of time. Unforseen circumstances? Yeah, I will give them that.. but does it take over 3000 deaths to determine that you should "consider" doing something?

Personally I think that someone is stealing the money and we will never be leaving Iraq.

All in all.... I think someone needs to suit bush up in some BDU's and shove his ass out there with a gun and little food and water.... bet they'd come home soon after that...Bush is an overgrown child used to getting his way, so now he's just throwing his power around to accomplish exactly that.
