Do I need a gunsmith to install a low-pro gas block? Right now I have a standard A2 front sight on there, and I'm going to be switching over to a free float rail. I have the troy gas block and everything ready to go, it has two hex nuts on the bottom of it. From what I've read I feel like I'm more than capable enough but I want some human responses first. I was able to assemble the entire lower myself with relative ease.

    Here's what it looks like:

I like the sigs but my pocket pistol is a LCP. Its ok to shoot but your hand is a little numb after a mag or 2

I found a version (thunder .380 plus) that has a wider handgrip to accommodate a double stack 15 round mag. Do want. It's like 450 as opposed to 250 for the normal version, so probably won't buy until I can find a cheap used one.

Bersa makes a good little gun.

I dont care for them though. For its size and weight it should be a 9mm. I am not hating on .380 though, I carry one every day. I pocket carry my diamondback db380 with a spare mag, and forget its there. Its easy for me to shoot it accurately enough with point shooting, and I dont find the recoil a problem, buy my roomate seemed to struggle with it (he kept limp wristing it)

Turns out I don't need to be a gunsmith. Installed my troy alpha rail and got my Dd front sight put on today. Ready to head to the range and re-zero with iron sights with the new free float set up!

I just really like the PPK look, but not the idea of a 7+1 capacity.
the 15+1 is way more attractive. I wouldn't put it in place of a 9mm, small guns like these have their purposes.

The ppk look is definitely classy looking. Until you said it, i didnt know about the double stack one. Thats pretty neat and definitely makes use of the size of the ppk

Yeah I don't even think it's that much wider.
the PPK style does have a very slim profile thought hence the single stack :/

messed around with my friend's super old (80s i think) bersa and also S&W .40 today

                    edit:
380 vs 380 plus, very very slight differences

Ive bought a few from Lake side guns in acworth, but they have a very limited selection. Decent selection of holsters though.

Ga Firing line in kennesaw/marietta has a pretty big selection of rifles, shotguns, and handguns, but their handgun counter was a little less stocked than normal. You can typically find higher end 1911's there (sti, nighthawk, wilson) and usually have some oddities like a glock 20c, desert eagle, and arsenal aks are generally in stock. Also they have a recently revamped indoor range.

Deer creek gun shop in marietta next to the civic center is kind of an old time shop. Cool older guy owns it, small selection of rifles and handguns, a good smith, and lots of suppplies you dont normally find elsewhere, like random bins of gun parts, barrels, magazines, relaoding stuff.

Adventure Outdoors in marietta is HUGE. They have pretty much anything you can imagine. Decent prices on new guns, but accessories are generally overpriced. Ive bought a few guns new from them, but their checkout proccess is awful and time consuming. Some of the staff is helpful, some arent.

Then there big woods goods and high caliber right next to each other in woodstock. They are both pretty good but BWG has a larger selection i believe.

Pawn shops in marietta are a joke. So overpriced its comical..

thanks for the info I think I'll check out Adventure Outdoors. Yeah I haven't had much luck with pawn shops in Atlanta and around, but not terrible. People who work at pawn shops that sell guns think they're rocket scientists. I live in East Atlanta though, have my whole life, sucks how little (or maybe no) gun shops are around here.

edit: found the 380 plus on here (adventure outdoors website), 359.99 new, not bad.

Ah, if you are in east atlanta, theres a small gun shop called CJI Guns in tucker. They do class 3 stuff if yiu are interested in that.

That seemes to be a good price for that gun, considering what you are getting. I dont know what MSRP is on it though.

No need for class 3 at this juncture, just a good carry pistol whenever I turn 21. Idk where tucker is, I'm by turner field and the zoo

Tucker east east atlanta, just outside the perimeter.

Your best bet is Adventure outdoors though. They generally have 8,000-10,000 guns in stock.
