I really wish I had thought of this the other day. Perfect burn opportunity missed.

      Oh well, it's here now.

Now quit talking about it and buy a damn rifle.

Ive got 3, but they are all Fudd Guns from grandfathers who passed. Im more focused on paying for school right now, Ill probably pick the AK up this Spring or summer.

Its good really, because it gives me time to research through the options and get the exact one I want. Also if some new ones come out in that time.

This isn't that. AR's have bottomed out. I'd question the quality of kitted out AR's in that price range. I paid $1149 for my Arsenal SLR-104 FR (AK-74M) so under $1k isn't something I'm about to complain about.

A cheap ar is 600, yeah 1 to 1.5k for a decent ar I'd say. Think I have like 1.2 in mine and it's got some top shelf parts where it counts.

1k for an ak sounds decent, although I don't really know about aks, other than holding a few of them at shops.

Anybody notice that Kimber has a new revolver out at the SHOT show? 6 shot 357mag snubbie, same weight as the smith 640 357 with an extra shot.

Interesting..... I have a thing for revolvers, going to have to look this one up.

Edit: Disappointed they don't offer a hammer model. Guess I'll be sticking with ol' trusty.

Been looking around for a saiga sporter or something similar and it seems like anything in the ak realm is out of stock, I'm hoping to pick something up when my income tax shows up. Any ideas? I would rather buy new or good surplus. Also CA.

                          Rip.

Arsenal makes a lot of CA legal AKs, you gotta pay though. $2k is their average price. DDI AK's are cheaper, but I dont believe they come CA spec, so you would have to ship to a gunsmith and have him modify it to be legal.

You could also buy a WASR and have it modified.

Or you could move from California.

Oregon is my future state, but for now I want my commie gun. Century arms and buds would just attach a bullet button peice and ship without a mag for $45. Problem is all those places are sold out so I was wondering if anyone knew why or where to get one. I wanna stay under 600 before ffl etc. Or if anyone knows where to buy a completely machined lower and I'll just buy a parts kit

Or an SKS but $400+ seems steep for what they used to cost.
