    Clear wheels ?

Just noticed these while browsing around .

Heres a crappy VIDEO by the guy who invented them .

Surprised that I haven't noticed them sooner ot that no one posted them here .
Looks like he cobbled a set together in '05 and then got picked up by some bling wheel maker and released them at SEMA late last year .

Yeah they are definitely different .
Would only look decent with a nice new BBK installed otherwisw why bother .

The guy says the 2" thick Lexan are chemically coated on both sides with the same stuff the NHL uses on their safety perimiter shielding .

Wow - it's just a matter of time before someone add some accent lights to the rotor and caliper with them wheels.

I was thinking that this would be an easy way to show off various designs, colors and effects. It would even make a good place to advertise. Say you created a decal using vehicle wrap media on the inside of the wheel to run ads or to simply show off some NWS photos. The brake dust stays behind the wrap and you have a shiny custom image on the outside of the wheel.

I am sure that it would be much less than a comparable wheel with a one-piece design or a wheel that had a full face spider.

Almost as cool as the LED message wheels. Has anyone actually seen those on the street?

Those are old news. When I saw press photos of them they were in front of a MASSIVE 8 pot Brembo BBK (barely fit under the wheel) with vented and cross-cast rotors so they looked really cool.

Those would look good with rusted rotors and calipers behind them
