      Couple more pics :

Ok , we get the idea now of what they look like installed .
I think they are kinda cool in a novel sort of way .
Would not have to worry about brake temps since most of the applications are for bling rides anyway .

Only being offered in sizes 20" and up so that pretty much tells the story of what they will be going on .
Noticed a thread online and I think the 20's weigeh in at like 22-24 lbs .
Looks like the 20's are priced out at around $2k wholesale .

Heres another VIDEO of the guy who thought them up , this a better video from SEMA .

Heres some weight and pricing info :

"The center is 1.5 or 2” polycarbonate, chemical hard coated both sides.
Weight on 20” is 27 lbs, and 22” 38 lbs (complete wheel weight)
All other parts of the wheel are forged 6061t aluminum
(Inner and outer hoops and Hub center)
SAE tested, certified and passed Impact, cornering and radial tests.
Now in production, average delivery time is 6-8 weeks.
Suggested retail is $5000.00 per wheel"

        $5k per wheel ? Yikes !
And with those weights you wont be winning any handling contests either . :D

Thoes wheels are sick. You are right though, the weight will not help the car much. I think that they are really the best on big cars like that Benz or cars od simillar size.

27lbs for a 20" rim is pretty light, there are a lot of 17's and 18's upwards of that weight.

I bet they would probably turn yellow over time, and scuff easily.

I dunno.. Lexan is a pretty tough material. It takes quite a bit of heat to make it melt- especially after its been constructed into its final product. I imagine that its relatively hard to scratch or scuff as well or in the case where it did get scratched or scuffed, it could probably be easily buffed and polished smooth again.

But what about the issue of cleaning it. Do you really have to remove the wheels and clean the insides with windex?!?

The lexan may be tough, but it also scratches, and those scratches will look like shit after a while.

I would imagine so. I guess you could probably fit your arm up in there from the back of the wheel and wipe the inside section by section. Maybe get 25% to 30% of the wheel then roll the car forward to get the next part.
