Nah. I'm just doubtful, at least for the near future. There's other tracks that have given huge bids elsewhere in the world, and Bernie is all about money. I think they would rather tap into a new area anyway. I'm not the authority for this, but what US tracks have the infastructure to support such a big race? And one that can actually afford to do it?
Honestly, I don't really care. I like the Canadian GP better and I can afford a plane ride.

It is important to keep in mind that many of the tracks where F1 races are partially or entirely funded by the government to act as a lure for tourism dollars for that country.....therefore, enough money to payoff Bernie. You would be hard pressed to get the US Govt. to providing funding for a race venue or facility - especially with the hell-bent tree huggers and whatnot. It would never fly here.

Bernie said:
"there are bigger markets for us to be in other parts of the world."
I think that the reason is clear. He pulled the same trick when he threaten to widthdraw from the Canada GP a couple of years ago when F1 cars were forbidden to sport any Tobacco brand on them. Tobacco advertizing is banned accross Canada.
What must be understood by "bigger markets" is markets that have less restrictions. Most South Asian or Middle Eastern country have no bylaws regulating tobacco and its advertizement. That's the perfect market for the Death Merchants. There are tons of pending lawsuits in the US against the tobacco manufacturers. They are now simply putting their money where they are sure they can make more and won't fear to be sued...
Strangely, there are less and less Tobacco money in F1, which has been replaced by telecommunication and banking money... Anyway, I would keep in mind that Bernie "Shortie and ugly" Ecclestone has used the words "Bigger markets" to explain the termination of the US GP.Brake harder. Go faster. No shit.

Americans are in love with CRAPCAR. Why would F1 care about the US? They tried...it didn't work.
Self correction...F1 obviously wanted a reason to not come back. It wasn't entirely an accident what happened. There was a very easy solution for the tire problem. But why when you don't really want to race in the US.
Indy was a boring course for these cars anyways.Last edited by joshh; 07-13-2007, 12:57 AM.Your signature picture has been removed since it contained the Photobucket "upgrade your account" image.
