Want to go on Vaca...need help.

I want to take a vacation before school starts in the fall. I'm gonna fly through skybus so I can only go to certain cities. Its cheap as hell so here is a list....

    Seattle/Vancouver

It would be great if I could find a kind hearted soul that would allow me to crash at their place and show me around. Beer and food would be on me. It would be around Sept. 8-14 for a couple of days.

P.S- if you paypal me $200 then I can also go to the Tail of the Dragon

Daytona is a shithole. Ft. Lauderdale is a lot better, but I guess I am biased when I say I'd go somewhere else... probably Vancouver.

are we talking Vancouver WA or BC? Both are nice, but I think I like Vancouver BC better.

Seattle is a good choice too. And this is the best time of year to visit here.

(Southern) Cali is always a good place to go as well. I guess it's up to what you are looking to do.

Come to Seattle. Portland and Vancouver are only a couple hours in either direction. Hell, I wouldn't mind taking a road trip with you if you end up coming to the PNW.

I dont see rio on his list... good try though.

Id do the cali thing or the PNW. I would like to see the west coast sometime, it is probably a lot nicer than FL.

So if I wanted to go to FL, what would be a good place? I'm 35, so the college scene ain't my thing - what's cool?

I want to spend some time in the Keys - that's my intended region anyhow.

What's the best time of year to try it, and if there are any things a traveler should know from the locals, what would it be?

On topic, this is the time of year to see Seattle & Vancouver BC - and Vancouver is a beautiful city to me, I like going there everytime we go North. Not much in between is very cool, a few decent bars in Port Coquitlam, but that's about it.

If you like coffee, make sure to get a latte @ Vivace in Seattle. There are only 2 locations, but the owner is credited with bringing espresso to the USA, and his staff know their stuff & you won't believe the quality. Order a mug to sit & drink and you will see some excellent latte art in your cup. Perfect rosettes are the norm. To-go cups don't get the latte art, and once you see it in action you will know the talent it takes.

Portland is a cool town IMHO as well, haven't spent a ton of time there, but never had a negative time there either.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

I've decided I want to go to Seattle. I just need to find someone to go with me or find a place to stay while Im there. Rountrip will only be about $250.

The Palm Beach/Ft. Lauderdale/Miami area has a lot to offer, and you'll only be a few hours from the keys. Personally, I think January-April would be the best span of time to come. Cool, clear weather.

If you're coming to Seattle, do it soon. Or bring your umbrella, because I would be willing to bet that there are few people that even own one to lend to you.

I could be wrong though. I know I don't own one...

I wonder how many PNW folks even own an umbrella, sure some high - maint. chick do, but really I think the rest of us are just used to being wet.
