Bailing out the people that closed their eyes and walked into a stupid mortgage for a stupidly overpriced house will make housing more expensive for the rest of us. The real estate market and consequently the fixed income market (bonds) is going through a correcting as all these people are getting their asses handed to them as their mortgage adjusts to a new higher rate. A lot of these people were betting that they would be able to resell the house before the adjustment for a profit. This correction will make housing more affordable for the the the rest of us. You might not like the situation if you are stuck with an upside down mortgage (you owe more principal than the house is worth) but it had to happen sooner or later. Unfortunately if you bought a house in the last 5 years chances are you paid too much.

Actually you need to wait to the bank has to buy the loan back and it becomes a REO property which is owned by the bank. Right now "most" foreclosures are currently about 25% higher than the current market value of the home. Let the bank by the loan back and after 9-12 months on the market the bank will then be ready to liquidate the home. You should at this point be able to pick the home up for around 50% of what the house is actually worth. That's where you are wrong. You should NEVER compare yourself to the people who get handouts if you think well enough of yourself to not be categorized with them.

The young white male has more opportunities and advantages in this society than anyone else. If you cleaned yourself up, got a "corporate" looking haircut, a shave and if you put on a decent suit you can walk right into any corporation and land a $100K job, no questions asked. Sure minorities, women, illegal immigrants and anyone else who is not a white male get perks and considerations and soforth but a young white male can get ALL of that and MUCH MUCH more without having it handed to him.

sure in the past minorities have been looked over for many things, yea it is shitty. you want to see what handouts can do???? ever had a "section 8" neighbor??? i have, it is shitty!!! my parents live in an area where the houses are ranging from the $500k's and up, just a mile south of there they have taken an entire appt complex (800+ units) and made it "section 8". it is also located directly accross the street from one of my old shops. since they "converted the appts." they have had stolen cars rammed through the shop's doors twice in the back garage and once through the front doors of the parts department, plus many B&E's and cars being broken into BEHIND the locked and gated fence. in the 5 years i worked there there were 3 windows broken and never a break-in. i lived in that "hood" for 15+ years and have watched it decline!

so where are your EXPERENCES that tell you I "the single white male" can go anywhere and get a $100K job??? Louis Farrakhan?....Al Sharpton?....Jesse Jackson??? let's hear them...back up your statement......

I would like clarify one thing- If you are a white male with no education, no job experience, no marketable skills and you are not able to speak well in a corporate and businesslike manner then you are just simply screwed. The blacks and hispanics are going to be given all of the janitorial and building maintenance jobs. And when corporations need to maintain their quota by hiring uneducated people for lower paying jobs, they go straight to those communities because it is generally known that white people in America have no excuse for not having a college education. White owned corporations know that every white person in America is supposed to have a trust fund, a rich uncle, or some other source of money for education and if you are a white male and not in school, you are not regarded as being a significant white person in their eyes. But at the same time if the young white male knows how to talk the talk he can fake his way up to the top and nobody is going to question him.

The rich white people who run the world and give their own people $100K jobs are indeed the same people who give handouts and nepotistic opportunities to minorities. If you consider being white and male to be a disadvantage, you certainly have not learned how to work the system.

You know what- that is a very EXCELLENT point! Ask any white person who complains about minorities getting handouts if they would rather be black or hispanic. How many white people would ever say that they would be willing to change their race to black if that meant that they could get a $100,000 job. Even Chris Rock once said "No white person would ever want to trade places with me, and I'm RICH!"
