I LOVE e28 m5's! especially in Schwartz! My friend has the same exact one, (88 m5, black on black), and he has just a hair over 90k on his, I drove it and love it to death! his plate says 88MMMMM, standing for '88 m5!

Came in the canadian models. I like the black interiors better on M5's. Both of the M5's my dad owns are black and tan. So, yes. In the U.S., pretty rare.

I'm not too sure, but his was immaculate! His dad gave it to him after I helped him learn how to drive manual on it. I fell in love with the e28 after that, Kinda fueled the fire for me to get into my e30...(a few years later)
