Hunting birds is way different than dog fighting so is any other means of game hunting mainly because it is a highly regulated and is used to help keep the population of whatever is being hunted in control. That is why there is only certain periods of the year that a particular game can be hunted and even in some cases it is governed in how the game can be hunted i.e bow season, black powder season, rifle season and so on... Anytime people do an act where any kind of animal is used for monetary gains is WRONG !! Whether it be dog fighting or cock fighting or whatever !!! These acts are for nothing other than to line their pockets with Ben Franklins. Bird hunters or any other hunter DO NOT GET ANY MONEY FOR WHAT WAS HUNTED and is purely a sport to help keep the wild populations in check

Hey kruzen.............. CUTE kid you have there!
Would suck to have anything bad ever happen to her, by some sick individual right?

Well it is proven that people that abuse animals, usually go on to hurt people too.
        Think about that maybe?

Beat me to it, exactly right.

I'll add that a well placed shot will drop a deer instantly, and at the very worst you should be in a blood trail & have the 2nd shot within 3 minutes, and that game is a different story entirely as you really respect what you kill.

I only pray that it's 3 to 5 minutes from the minute I know I'm dying to when I really expire - I'll take that any day.

It actually makes you MORE thankful of the cow or chicken that you never saw killed when you buy it at the store after you have killed an animal to eat it.

Dog fighting is no longer a socially acceptable "sport", and I use that loosely. I only say no longer as there was a time when "White Only" was normal to see on restrooms - that is to illustrate what was socially acceptable, but was obviously never right.

I have seen a decent amount of post-fight shots of dogs, and despite gutting fish regularly & fowl hunting as part of my upbringing, I will actually cry when I see what some depraved humans are capable of doing to an animal that wants nothing more than to be your best friend. There will be a special place in Hell for dogfighters.

I can't even personally work in a shelter, or I would go buy a tree shredder & bring home those pieces of human waste.

It's not how you handle the good times, but the faith you keep in the bad that defines you.

And I forgot to add that I bet you anyone that does dog fighting or anything similar does not have their opponents dog stuffed and sitting on the mantle at their home either !!!!!!! Unlike any LEGAL game hunter i.e. has their prized highly rare tagged pintail duck hanging on their wall or once and a life time large mouth bass mounted etc....

To add to what I mentioned earlier, the Gwaltney plant is near the area where Vick's property is and if you saw what they do to pigs prior to slaughtering them, you would find the dog fighting to be very mild in comparison.

And the other thing that I didn't consider (that was mentioned in other posts) that dogs are not going extinct any time soon. In fact, like certain birds and deer, there is an overpopulation of unwanted dogs and cats. I am sure that 2 dogs fighting each other isn't going thin out the pet population that badly.

You and Kruzen obviously somehow don't get the point. We are talking about cruelty to animals. Are you guys seriously bringing up a population issue and extinction as an arguement against animal cruelty? If goverment or lawmakers decide that a chronic over population issue of a certain animal needs to be taken care of by euthanasia or governed hunting then great but animal cruelty is a tale tale sign of much greater problem. And no matter how plants process cows, chickens, pigs etc. it is ultimately done to provide food for humans. One can always choose to be a vegeterian if they protest that.

Nobody wants to admit it but I bet half of the people in this thread ENJOY animal cruelty. Maybe dog fighting is not your thing but what if you had zoo monkeys fighting? That would draw one heck of an audience. Maybe strap knives to their hands/feet and then antagonize them or give them drugs or do whatever it takes to make them so insane that it will be a fight to the finish. Put it on pay-per-view or something like that and everyone will be talking about it at work the next day.

Heck, I am sure that if you even put dog fighting on PPV, people would order it.

The greatness of a nation and its moral progress can be judged by the way its animals are treated. Mahatma Gandhi:idea:

Yep, I even agree Fandango-zotti is a gem after you roll out this steaming coiler from your mouth, Jscotty.

Are you seriously so twisted to think even 10% of the human population goes for that? Seriously, that's so messed up. Now I know he (Jscotty) was serious the 2 times he refrenced giving both my dog & Biscus chocolate.

You really should seek therapy there Scotty - that's way messed up.

I just like stirring the pot, so seriously, animals are there for human consumption for the most part, and while it is wasteful to kill off an animal and not use the leftovers for somethign productive, its near the same in my mind as far as 'importance' of the animal to the global populous.

But you said that chocolate does not hurt dogs and that is only a myth.

Actually in the Philippines when they make roosters have those horribly barbaric cock fights, the winner gets to keep the losing bird (whether dead or alive) and according to tradition, eats the losing bird... although I don't know how the winner of a cock fight can be judged if both birds are still alive.
