No, I didn't say that at all. Someone else said something of the bromine in chocolate being the reason it's bad for dogs, but that's still irrelivent since you didn't know one way or the other when you made your comment. I still wouldn't let my own dog anywhere near chocolate.

With your comment, I dare say 50% of R3V would rather you keep your animal "insight" to your self, not that 50% enjoys any form of animal cruelty.

Most animals besides Humans can not tollerate a compound in cacao beans called theobromine.
But any amount can make your dog, cat, bird sick, or even lead to death.

The bad part of it is that the consequences of screwing up his career is going to be far greater than any amount of time he will spend in the pokey. And this will probably send out a strong message to the rest of the country that this sort of thing is not OK and will not be ignored.

Now there are NBA players who reportedly are defending Vick saying that dog fighting is a sport like hunting or fishing. Even though I whole heartedly agree with this, he still broke the law and at some point we need to stop letting celebrities get away with stuff because we like them and they are great people.

As far as jail time goes, in my opinion killing any living thing because it doesn't perform to expectations is sick. His sentence however will be a federal sentence, and then the state will get him. The feds don't care about dog fighting charges. They almost threw Rico at him until he pleaded. They will get him for interstate gambling, laundering, and rackateering. Then Vick will start naming names. Mark my words, he isn't the biggest fish in this pond.

Also, think about this......
Vick and his cronies killed dogs when they performed badly.
By their "rules" the city of atlanta/ state of Georgai should have shot Vick within the first two seasons.
Fuck him.

How is fishing the same as Dog Fighting? Maybe the way some big game is hunted or the way Cheney hunts is cruel and unusual, but it isn't like raising a dog to kill, taking the runts and using them as bait, betting with your buddies on which dogs kill which dogs, putting a suffering living animal in a kiddie pool and shocking it to death with a cattle prod, stabbing it to death when it can't fight back, shooting it while it looks at you wanting to live.

well, I guess I meant harsh in the sense that they need to put this guy through some serious rehab. The people that can carry out such things are truly very sick and just throwing years and fines at them is not going to correct whatever is f'd up in their tree. Mostly if he/the person was hands on the shi'ite we read about...

Dan Reeves pulled vick aside first season and pleaded with him to give up his thug lifestyle. He told his own coach to get bent.

To add to what I mentioned earlier, the Gwaltney plant is near the area where Vick's property is and if you saw what they do to pigs prior to slaughtering them, you would find the dog fighting to be very mild in comparison.

Regulations are in place now. Also, if you are watching PETA vids you may want to consider that group of hypocrites as well.
PETA operates kill shelters.
