I admit that I go to garage sales but most times its to score stuff to sell on ebay. I hardly ever haggle unless the seller persists in me making him an offer. I find that thirift shops and yard sales will sometimes have stuff that is valueable however they don't really know what they have.
About 2 years ago I was in the thrift shop and I found 2 flash car readers. in their junk bin. The manager had no clue what it was that I had so he said, "WTF is that? You can have it for $5." Sold them on ebay a week later for $25 each. The same thing happened with a box of blank professional video tapes. They resemble VHS tapes but they are slightly different and slightly smaller and play in a different type of VCR. At the time these tapes were easily $10 to $15 each on the open market but nobody at the thrift store seemed to think that they were old and antiquated. I bought the while box of 50 tapes for $10. Brought them home and discovered that they were BRAND NEW and still had the blank labels in the cases.
Yeah.. betacam to be exact. In spite of all of the digital technology out there, most TV stations and broadcasting companies use it as one of their primary formats.
Internally they are different from betamax but the tape is essentially the same size and shape.
Why is it, when you part out BMW's, when people come to pick parts up, they are always the most shady, whacked out people? Every damn time someone comes to get parts from me it's always some new, exciting life form, that even my wild imagination wouldn't be able to come up with. And these people always want me to throw in another part, for $5, even though it's worth about $95.
Sounds like every experience I've had with craigslist. I love the idea, and have sold some stuff, but it usually goes down like this.
Brand New Les Schwab tire chains for tires sized XXX, $20. 1/3 of retail, I just want to help someone out
Get a call. "Will you take 10?"
No douchebag, I'm giving them away, don't be greedy.
Then the thing that always happens to me. Get a call, they say they want em, I spend 10 minutes giving instructions, then....
they're 20 minutes late, and they call me -- ask to meet in the safeway parking lot instead of driving that extra two blocks to my house
so I throw everything in the car, go to safeway, they load the shit into their car, and THEN ask "will you take 10?"
ftmfw I hate people, craigslist people especially. (In fairness I sold the volvo on craigslist, and have bought three cars that way. But for the nickel and dime crap, it's a headache. No one respects a schedule)

They figure that if they are giving you money, they don't have to stay on schedule. You want the money, right? You'll wait.
And I think that's terrible- I mean you bend over backwards to meet someone half way and then they want to haggle you to death after they made you wait 40 minutes.
you should send him a bag of misc bolts and nuts, including the right ones, let them figure out which ones are the correct ones and all of them are stripped out and worthless !!!
There are only two bolts, the front has a hook/slot to hold it in place. very strong.
Atomic;
I am sending nothing. They gave me some address and yet another person's name.
They can kiss my American ass. O that reminds me, did anyone watch Rush hour 3? Lame movie, but there was a funny part where this French guy kills someone, then he decides he wants to be american because it is fun to kill for no reason!! LOL
....Back then hoes didn't want me, now I hot hoes all on me....
