    BMW Parts man salary?

If anyone here is a BMW partsman, Id like to know what you make. You can PM me it if that would keep it more private. Or if you have any knowledge of what BMW parts guys make, Id like to know. I was asked by the parts manager to come fill out an application, and leave my current job. But I Wasnt sure what to put for my salary desired. I put $17, just wondering if I lowballed myself.

I compared entry level at BMW compared to manager at shitty ass Napa. So figure there should be a pay difference. lol

If you have any input or knowledge, let me know please. Its appreciated.

    Thanks, Joe

I'm going to guess less than 17. But that's just a guess.

Also, we're in California. Pay scales are higher. Our countermen get paid $12-13 at napa, just for being countermen who dont fuck shit up.

here in gods country the guys who have been there for some time are making in the neighborhood of 40k. thats about 20 an hour. 17 might be plausible in california for starting . altho there is no higher standard of living than gods country there is a higher cost of living in other parts of the country. im going to make a guess they offer you 15. i hope you get it dude

Neil (Turborefriculatr) works at the parts desk at BMW of Encinitas. I'm sure he'll chime in.

Not sure if Id do $15. I get free insurance and what not at Napa. I guess for the room to move up though, I'll do it.

Really depends on what part of the country you're in as well as how big/popular the dealership is .
Also it really helps if they are up with the times and sell online .

I was offered a position back in '05 by Classic BMW in Dallas and would have broken $50k in the first year .

Depends on whether the dealership is family owned or not also. the dealership in SF is family owned and the owner is a cheap bastard...

Its not family owned. They run BMW on one side, and Nissan on the other side of the complex. As far as internet sales, I think coastbmw.com has car sales for nissan and bmw. They SEEM decent sized.

It depends on what specific department you work in, as well (ie, wholesale, bodyshop, retail, etc). Retail is probably the paid the least out of those, at least from my experience. That being said, it's an awesome job.

Cary was referring to BMW of San Francisco.

I know he was talking about the SF dealer. I should have been more specific with that statement I guess. Coast BMW here in SLO is not family owned, is what I meant.

I hope I got this job. For some reason out of the blue today I got fired lol. Because I make too much money (allegedly). Im assuming/hoping BMW called my work, and asked for a heads up. And being the beginning of the fiscal year, they decided to cut my loose now. Kinda shitty, but at least Im out of Napa.

Just talked to the parts manager today, and he said Im at the top of the list. There is going to be an opening soon... And hes going to quit in 6 months to get a job in law enforcement. That'd give me 6 months to prove myself enough to take his job over lol.

After having to explain 5 (yes, 5) times to the parts monkey this weekend what I wanted when I said "transmission mounting bolts", I sure as hell hope it's a lot less than 17/hr.
