I don't think that anyone is blaming the government for the consequences of the storm as much as they are blaming the government for how they are handling the situation.
Storms and disasters that we have had in years past have always been followed up by swift action from the federal government. I think back to Hurricane Andrew and 9-11. In both situations the gov't was there within hours with plenty of bottled water and other relief supplies. After Katrina, a bunch of supplies were just sitting on loading docks all over America. Like Jason said, there are a zillion fema trailers about to be auctioned off while there are still people down there without homes.
Oh, and when I went down there last month there was public housing that was fully intact and not affected by the storm. I was later told that these people were told to evacuate and they locked up all of the buildings. 2 years later they still are not allowed to return.

ok guys this is funny and will take some time to read though the post. But a guy in LA spotted "Lootie" the black guy with beer in the bucket pic. He talked to him and even got a picture. Check it out!

I think the whole mess that was left in its wake just sucks and a lot of peoples' lives have been forever changed, but you can't say they didn't know ahead of time.
