I was NEVER comfortable on any of the pedals I tried (4 different models) or cages (3 different models). I thought about going to clipless, but I really didn't want to have to buy/wear special shoes any time I wanted to go ride, much less the hassle of having to change them, take separate shoes with me depending on where I was going, etc...

I think when I do build my next bike, I'm just going to go with the Zefal or a similar kind of half-cage, probably plastic. I like the idea of my foot being held from moving too far forward/off the pedal, but with a little less constriction.

I tried the plastic half cages from my brothers eBay SS Special. I hated them. Went on a 10 mile ride a few min ago. It's official, I need a larger bike. (Coming to terms with that, just found out I'd been wearing shoes at least a size to small for the past 5+ years.)

same, i really think metal cages provide much better feel in general.

I just hate that my steerer tube has to be so long for me to comfortably run those drops. looks like doodoo. when i put my risers on i have two spacers on the bottom and one on top of the stem. it looks a little better. thanks buddy

I was gonna ask you if the frame was a smidge too small for you. I hate spacers, but you gotta do what you gotta do. Those would have been my only negative, but hey, anything is better than my bike, so who am I to talk. I have to run a 130mm stem to get anywhere near comfort, and it's still not enough. I need a 66cm+ track frame.

Sunday. My Bianchi shifter died. Had no other choice. The Cannondale doesnt have a cassette at the moment :)

When I ride my road bike, its for real. Its not to work or to a bar. Its to another town halfway across the state ;)

So last night I bought a new bike. I was really pumped to ride it today, then I looked at the weather forecast. Heat index of 108. :(

The ride: 2010 Specialized Tricross Singlecross.

couple pics of the px-10 and e30 in their most recent forms:

new pedals, cages, straps, different tires, cut & flipped drops. not a huge fan of the cut drops, too narrow & up-swept. real bulls are on the to-do list. i do like the stealth light set-up.
