Trip out, but I found three people on LAFixed.com boards today talking about techII parts, and needing broken rear sway bar mounting re-welded. I tried to send 'em r3v's way, we'll see what happens.



I got some real clips, and some straps too. I'm gonna hafta put them on tomorrow.

Trying to get a thule, as one version of mounts will work for the S13 and E30 with different hardware. might come in handy.

By 'real clips' you guys mean platforms and toe clips/ straps?

And surprisingly ebay is a great place to look for roof racks. I picked mine up (feet, bars, two older bike trays) for $80 shipped. And its the "claw" set up so no taking the front wheel off which is kinda nice with my hydraulic disks.

Minus the yellow, add black.. They are road pedals that are mad for single straps and cages. There is a couple of scrapes from taking turns and clipping the ground from my feet not being clipped in.

Fully functional and very strong. I've got $75 invested.
I just want different pedals. Anodized. NJS approved. :)

My name is Chris Bossof and I'm a representative for Volcom. We're currently starting up a project similar to RVCA's and teaming up with a top bicycle manufacturer to create a limited run of fixed gear bikes. We've been looking around for a good place to start for quite some time now, but decided that LA, SF, and SD were all far too large of cities to get a good opinion about the graphics, geometry, etc. So, in short, Santa Barbara is a great due to the amount of focus you would provide to our project, which would be properly acknowledged in the promotion of the bike.

What's up bro? It's Scotty from RVCA. Someone told me you were on here with ideas. I had to come on here and see what you are up to. Looks like you are up to your old un-broley like conduct. We worked for a long time with the Cinelli people and others in bike community. Volcom is lame company and you just want to cash in the next craze. We all know that most of these fixie people are half-gay wanna be scenesters about 2 years behind the latest trend. Screw their opinions. Go onto more mainstream forums and get their ideas. Those people are your targets.

Heres some connections to make. Costa Mesa based companies: RVCA and Volcom

RVCA branched out to a local resource (Council of DOOM) to help them promote their Cinelli/RVCA colab

Volcom, in its attempt to follow the trends, realizes Costa Mesa has been compromised, so they look for a similar town (Santa Barbara).

Further, Volcom is running an "environmental awareness" campaign right now (very hip) and what better product to help market this campaign then a bicycle (a super trendy fixed gear bicycle!).

Santa Barbara is also known for being a college town (lots of potential volcom customers) and for being environmentally conscious (another plus for marketing).
It would not surprise me if this same idea is being purposed to Santa Cruz, or somewhere similar.

This thing is totally real and totally scary. In Costa Mesa we have actual fixed gear / surf clubs or crews. We sponsor one and are talking to another all girl club. We cared when we created our bike - I ride mine to work. Volcom does not care.

I hereby promise one RVCA Cinelli complete bike ($3500 - 3800) for whoever posts the best argument for Volcom's lameness. I am here at RVCA reading this with a bunch of guy, including my boss, and he gave me the go ahead. Do it guys and girls. I know Chris well, and I know he will be back. This is not a joke.... so get to work.

it's actually funny to see people riding the fuji obey, cause I know how much they paid and it's worth about 3/4 of that price. the famous Philly Bike Revolution is selling the obey for upwards of 1300-1400 dollars. and another local shop called Breakaway had one in there for 1599. Regardless of all the gold nitto shit on it, it's a fuji with a cool paint job.
