it's all about getting your weight over the front hub, the less weight is on the rear tire, the easier it'll break loose. i honestly don't think strapped pedals help much for skidding, only getting power to the ground.

What are you smoking? I want some.

But at least you're half right.

Digitalwave.... Strap in. not too tight, but tight enough. Get up some speed, lean forward as far as you can, and lock one leg up. Use the straps to your advantage. I always do. Its how you quick skid... Which is the reason why you want good leather double straps and flat track pedals.

My problem was that I wasn't going fast enough. Now that I'm confident doing them with some speed, I can hold them for days. My problem now is I can only do them holding the ends of the bullhorns, I can't skid holding the handflats. I think it's partially because I sprained my wrist about a month ago, and I'm afraid to put the pressure on my wrist with it turned that way.

          got the coolest bike accessory ever a few weeks ago;

          cupholder. fuck yeah!

I want to mount it to the top tube though. I think I'm gonna get one of those hose-clamp deals they use to mount bottle cages on bikes without them. Then I just have to figure out how to attach the cupholder

the cuzzi is great. and, if you take the cuzzi out the cupholder fits a 22 with a paper bag around it pretty nicely

Doesn't that get massively in your way when trying to skid?

I just bought my first real bike, its an '08 Cannondale Synapse SL-3 Compact.

I was going to get a Synapse 5 but it was on sale for $1899 at mikes bikes, then I checked craigslist and found a bike shop twice as far (60 vs 30 miles) that had the Synapse SL-3C (which retails for $3000 vs 2100ish for the 5), on sale for the same price.

I just got home from the shop and I have family over so no pictures yet but here's the specs page-

                I have the blue/carbon version.

Damn that is a nice bike, I still ride a Dyno VFR I have had since about 96-97 I think.

Looks exactly like this one only shittier.

Works for what I use it for(riding in the park and downtown, and other misc things) Would not mind a better/bigger bike though.

I remember when I was into dirt jumping I made fun of kids with VFRs. They were like $170 at bike stores. I had a pretty nice free agent though so I thought I was big ballin. I was like 12.

When i tilt it down its not as comfortable and i dont sit on the seat properly, i'm too far forward on it.
Just kidding with you. That is a great frame though, smooth as butter.

I hope to have this built this week. I just need to cut the fork and get the headset pressed in.
