So, last thursday I took my mountain bike and fixie out to memorial park - the best bit of outdoors in houston. First I hit up the mountain bike trails - which was good fun for about 45 minutes. After that was said and done I grabbed the fixie and rode over to the road bike course. It's 2 lanes paved - ultra curvy winding through some dense woods. It's blocked from all traffic ofcourse - but it occupied by the occasional rollerblader or whatever as well. HOLY shit some of those guys are fast. I was crusing along pretty quickly - passing about half of the road bikers - but some of these guys blew by me like I was walking. I had no idea how fast these guys could travel.

I'm going to re-gear my bike with a 14 or 15 tooth cog and head out again and try to keep up. I also need some damn drop bars but that will come later.

    EDIT:

I don't think I've posted a pic of my ride.

On second thought, the orange one would match more colors

And the purple would go so wel with black components

The Mercier Kilo TT in Orange is a sexy fucking bike. My (now ex) girlfriend got herself an Orange one for Christmas and I have to say I really love the way it looks with all silver components and white Deep Vs.

That would make a great spoke card for the bike haha.
