What does R3V know about English 3-speeds? I dug this German 3-speed out of my grandma's garage. After stealing a saddle from another bike and liberally applying WD-40 to any moving parts, I took her for a spin.
So it a Victoria Werke, probably mid-50s, Sachs hub, Sturmey trigger. Not sure if I want to stabilize the rust and keep the patina or do a restoration. Thoughts?

Restore, and fyi, WD-40 is a penetrating oil, not a lubricant.Originally posted by DozyproductionsYou know why you're drinking that Pabst? No its probably not because it was the first beer you grabbed. It's because you're a winner.Comment

My walmart fixie, my friend found it in the woods and gave it to me after my mountain bike got stolen. I gave it a little paint and had fun!

Never had I imagined this thread would get as long as it has. Good to see all of these bikes...I still have tons of pages to read through.
Here is my latest purchase that has close to 700 miles on it already:
These pictures are from when I first bought it...note battery behind bottle cage

Wow Ultegra has got funky looking. Can only imagine what Dura Ace looks like now.Comment

It did get all funky! DA looks similar in ways.
For me it is still confusing to shift: I was brought up on Campag and my brain still thinks that there is an inboard thumb lever...will learn eventually.
My first carbon bike and I am not disappointed.

All carbon? I have a 7005 Alu mixed with carbon rear stays, like how it rides. Not to bone jarring as most all aluminium 7005 series bikes.Comment
