    iTunes on a PC, WTF?

I decided to give iTunes a try after being a faithful Winamp user for almost 10 years. The library system on iTunes appealed to me more because Winamp's sucks. I like the flash like having the CD cases up top and all that.

After spending some time sorting and organizing my library, I started listen to some music. iTunes causes my PC to crash randomly in the middle of songs. It has locked up 5 times in 24 hours. That's more than my PC has locked up in the 2+ years I've owned it combined. It's much more of a resource hog than Winamp as well.

I am disappointed. Back to Winamp it is.

Weird... I used iTunes on my PC for a long time (as do all of my friends) and I've never heard of this issue.

I use iTunes and I think I know what your talking about TJ. When you play an MP3 file, and it hits an imperfection (sounds like an LP/Record scratching) and it just stops the track altogether and freezes iTunes? or is it something different?

I guess if you're into all the functions, add-ons, and bells and whistles, it might be. I use Winamp to play and rip MP3's.

Does the job perfectly, and in close to the last 10 years, I have never had a SINGLE issue with Winamp.

Ah shit. I dunno then, but that certainly blows.

you never used Winamp 5, did you? :p

I ditched winamp almost 5 years ago. maybe the newest itunes has a bug in it - I usually tend to not update for a while to make sure I don't get stuck with crap like that.

Winamp was cool 10 years ago, but other software left it in the dust a LOOOONG time ago..

Oooooh yeah, forgot about version 5.0... :D

Other better programs than Winamp may have come out as of late, but like I said, for my purposes, I have no use for them.

And I do know that you need iTunes to load an iPod, one more reason why I'll never own one. I'm not a fan of uber-proprietary devices/software.

I know I had some of the same locking up problems when I used iTunes and a 30gb ipod. I transfered my entire library to a new computer and as soon as I hooked up the ipod it erased everything on it. I did everything by the book and still could not get it to load my library(over 3500 songs/videos). So I reformatted the ipod and listed it on ebay the next day. Sold it and have not looked at a apple product since....

its apple's sercret technique. Make quicktime fuck up windows through qttask (which runs in the background) so people think " fuck this windows shit!" and switch to Mac.

Then you become a moron and think GarageBand is for professionals.
