Theres been a few articles in the music media that skill at the game doesnt translate into skill on the instrument. On another note, it sucks to see someone in the throes of becoming someone who wont get laid and not be able to do anything about it. lol.

It's a FUCKING VIDEO GAME. Who cares how much time he spends playing it? What I love is how ironic this statement is when applied to most of the people on this forum. Like none of you have never spent hours and hours in front of the TV playing GT4 or Forza, or any other game, or doing anything else for that matter. It blows me away how critical people are of something so trivial.

I have noticed though among my friends that having musical inclination does translate into being able to pick up and play this game easier :p I'm guessing that everyone that has been bashing this game in this thread are the ones that have either never played it, or realized they sucked so bad at it they would rather just make fun of it.

It's fun for what it is, simply a video game. It also is generally a fairly social game, and I've got to say that I've had a great time getting drunk with my friends playing rock band. I've got a female friend who's actually pretty fucking awesome at drumming as well as doing vocals.

it is fun to play in a socail setting though, my friends kids got it for xmas and we were drunk and playing it last night, we pretty much sucked, but it was fun.

how many of you brag about your Nurburgring lap times on forza can actually drive like that? why didn't you spend the time playing that game doing something useful like developing real driving skills? pick up a porsche and get your ass to a track

they're video games. plain and simple. the kid is talented. may not be talented in a real world skill that could help him develop a career, but i severely doubt that he ever thought for a second that, if he spent so much time on the game, he would be really good at guitar and an amazing musician. some of you guys need to lay off and give the kid some props. I spent that 8 minutes with my mouth open, completely silent and awestruck.
