I'm bumping this to remind all of the bums that you're really pushing it.

I'm one of the bums. I just filed, but I'm not getting anything back. Luckily I had enough "business expenses" to write off as much as my income. Being a home owner with a home office helps out there.

i took a rapid refund anticipation loan hoping id get back 1k. in the meantime i took that money and went on vacation. now it turns out i wont be getting a refund so im going to get a title loan to pay off my anticipation loan. if theres anything left over im taking my family out for dinner on the charge card

we're getting a crapload back this year, half of which is going in junior's 529, and the rest we're going to split between a big property tax bill, clothes for my wife, and some shit for my e30

We got a letter from the IRS a few weeks ago telling us that magically, we somehow owed $1900 in Federal from 2005 (which I'd for some reason never been informed of before), so our refund would only be $2300, down from $4200. So I paid my rent for that month (being out of a job at the time), took the kid to the zoo in Portland for the weekend, bought some new tools for my current new job, and only ended up being able to put about $500 in savings. It's not the $3000 I'd planned on, but at least it's something!

I got the letter today saying I was getting the max "stimulus" It'll be nice and confirms they accepted my return which is all I care about.

My state refund arrived yesterday, still awaiting my fed refund and the bonus "stimulus" check.....not sure what to expect in terms of the amount. They said individual tax filings could see as much as $600, so we'll see what shows up. As for what I'm going to do with these funds, the E30 needs some maintenance done - timing and accessory belts, coolant flush, and required smog by June. The rest of my refund will probably be used up buying fuel......regular unleaded is commanding ~$3.75/gal. here. Super unleaded is near or at $4/gal.
