One of my co-workers has completely lost his mind over the last couple of years. Not only does he fervently believe in chemtrails, but government satellite mind-control, the typical 9/11 being in inside job garbage, and every other paranoid delusion you can think of. Today he came by to show me a link to a new cell phone that you implant under the skin in your arm and with a display that appears like a tattoo. My first reaction was "that's probably just a concept". "No no, it's real, you could get it now!" Of course the first story I find about it says "The tattoo display is still just a concept, with no word on plans for commercialization". He then goes off (again) on how it's real, and that they're only saying it's a concept because the government only wants to slowly dole out technology as they see fit to control us. Because the technology we have now is stuff the government's had for at least 40 years you know...
Every last bit of new technology (along with all currently tech of course) is just an attempt to control us by giving us cancer, autism, or to track everything we do. GPS devices? Only created so they can follow your movements. Internet? Only there to keep track of what we're searching for and reading about. Tazers? Only around to get us used to mass mind-control weapons the cops will start using on us! Any and all medicine? Mind controling, cancer inducing, sterility causing, autistic offspring creating agents of the secret freemason society that runs the world!
What's the most irritating is how he talks about all tech with a sarcastic condescending tone of voice. "Oh yes, this will be wonderful technology, it won't at all be used to track you, just consume, consume, consume!" He's even lost his mind in regards to the friggin English language. He truly thinks that "Therapist" and The Rapist" being a spacing apart is intentional. God forbid you use the "research" when talking about something scientists are doing because then you get the dissertation about how it breaks down to "re-search", as in "to search again", because of course the government already knows all this but has suppressed it.
When (not if!) he loses it completely and ends up in an armed stand-off with police I just hope I'm not around...
The really sad part about all this technology paranoia? He's our damned network administrator.Comment
