You should see it over here, every one is a soccer nut, and most of them are fat and stupid.

The US and Mexico ALWAYS give us good games.... I respect them for that. They do so much with so little. When the US also puts its mind to something, they dont fuck around. After they woke up to "soccer" in 1994 they have improved exponentially.

anyone watch the Real x Barca game? Damn hard game, what 5 yellows, two reds. Damn, Messi. So now both Barca and ManU have their first two victories at 2 - 0. It's going to be a badass final!!! Can't wait.

Right, clearly they had a more offensive approach in the second half, but the post that I quoted made it appear as if every pass/shot/move that was made was somehow influenced by the coach, which I find difficult to agree with.

Overall strategies, yes, definitely influenced by the coach, but individual movements are dictated by circumstances, the actual variables on the field, not the coach.

I just think that people read into the influence a coach has on the team way too much because they want to believe that the coach is either a god if the team succeeds or a demon if they fail.

An example to illustrate this, would you consider Spain's head coach the reason why they won the world cup? If so, then you should be able hypothetically transplant that coach to any of the other world cup teams and have an instant winner. Still think its all the coach...
You're reading way too much into this. Coaching had much to do with how we played against Argentina. Noticed how we were ultra defensive in the first half and aggressive in the second? It's not like the players just decided to want to score all of a sudden in the second half, it's just what Bradley used as a strategy.

they pick and choose those who make the passes, take the shots (who gets called to the national team), from what position they make those passes and take those shots (what position/area on the field they'll play), the overall team formation on the field, whether the team will be offensive or defensive in nature, their attitudes affect the players, etc etc...
