Anderson is a better fighter than Fedor. Lets get this straight.... just because you knock out fat ass piece of shit, out of shape loser Tim Silvia, doesnt make you anything. Id like to see the over the hill Randy couture take Fedor out. I dont like Anderson, or hate Fedor, but Anderson is the best fighter around. Period.

i personally think they are Both great fighters.
fedor's greatness extends from the fact that he is a excellent fighter all around and he hasnt really lost a proper fight.(only the dq in the tourney)
Anderson is great for the same reason(sans the loss part).
I enjoy watching them both fight. on a personal note im glad he embarrassed that big fat sloppy fuck of a douchebag fighter timmy....he is a terrible fighter who snoozes out wins by keeping his distance. Smart? maybe but shows he doesnt have confidence in his "skills"
Fedor is not a "pound for pound" fighter. BJ Penn is a "pound for pound" fighter.
HAHAHAHAHA what?! how does one go about NOT being a pound for pound fighter?
do you mean bj is a top ranked pound for pound fighter, and fedor is not?
"pound for pound fighter" is not something you can NOT be
guy that said anderson is better...fair enough, pound for pound status is completely subjective, but when i think of it i think of respective weight class domination.
anderson could probably do extremely well at 205, i honestly think he could quite easily beat forrest
but fedor has DOMINATED his division as a very small Heavy weight for a LONG time
anderson has dominated MW for about a year and a half as a HUGE middleweight (he walks at 100 kg - 10 pounds lighter than fedor)
and i put gsp in at number three because I'm canadian and am obligated too haha. just kidding.

Pound for pound is just a way to say someone like BJ Penn despite being a Lightweight or welterweight is the best in the world. You are giving them a performance grade and qualifying it by a "pound for pound" ratio. Fedor is not a pound for pound fighter because he is the best period(according to people who say that) and since he has fought people so much bigger than him and could most likely do the same to people smaller than him even easier, you don't need to qualify him with a "pound for pound" designation, He is just the best.

never thought that would have to be explained...LOL

I wish I didn't have too lol, typing out things like that aren't terribly fun. Now I know why people are so negative on the internet, it is just so much easier.

I don't think Couture is in the top 5 in the world. I mean he never really held onto the UFC belt that long and doesn't have a great record but he goes into the cage like a fighter should, ready to throw down. Not to mention he gets respect for his age. I think he won't last very long against Fedor though. But both have somewhat similar style with Couture's wrestling focusing more on ground and pound and Fedor's Sambo on submissions so who knows.
