    Vermont Drinking Age to 18?

    http://www.nytimes.com/2005/04/13/na...n=&oref=slogin

Pretty cool, I dont know what you guys think about underage drinking and whether or not kids to just becasue its rebellious(sp?) but it makes sense to me, maybe because Im 18.

On ABC today the person who supposibly proposed this said "18 to serve, 18 to be served"
Something I have always agreed with, again maybe becasue Im 18 but what ever.

Either way, it looks like I may be visiting the Vermont house alittle more often....

    What do you think?

Exactly what this country needs. A bunch of legally-intoxicated high school kids driving.

The trade-off should be they raise the driving age to 18, and make it as difficult and expensive to get a license as it is in Germany.

+1. kids are stupid man, they never use their heads. If you want to be 18 and get drunk, i don't think you should be legally allowed to drive. I have NEVER driven drunk, but i know i did some pretty ridiculous stuff when i was younger.

I had it at 21 at first. I should have left it there.

"Yeah, today is my 18th birthday! I'm gonna go get my license and then go get fucked up!"

Maybe that's what they should do. Natural selection at it's finest.

It should be 18, its stupid not to be. EVERYTHING else is 18, and when your 18 your an "adult" but apparently not adult enough to drink.

I just think it should be the same, either make everything legal at 18, or make it 21. Honestly I think the drinking age should be like 12, (just to make blunts life easier), and you should get your DL when you are 21.

Are you 17? Ever been to college?

I knew pleny of people much older than 21 who were still not "adult" enough to drink.

18 yrs old drinking does = natural selection though, so it can't be all bad.

Whats your point? Want to ban drinking all together?

I'm just saying, either make it all 18 or all 21, its stupid your adult enough to vote, go to war, and go to jail. But you can't taste a beer because your not adult.

I think 19 is a reasonable age just to avoid high school kids being able to legally buy booze.

Don't want to ban drinking at all, I'm sitting here drinking a beer relaxing after a busy week at work.

I just no how poor the decision making skills of most 18 yr olds are, including myself when I was 18, I can't imagine alcohol being legal for high school kids.

I understand your argument, I really do, but I think this idea is a bad one.
