I was going to say, it looked like it was parked and burned. Props weren't turning and it wasn't moving when it happened.

There are pics of it on the ground burning. It was pretty sad. At the same time, Its really cool that they are rebuilding it again. That takes a lot of dedication.

I SO wish. Those pics were taken by Kermit Weeks. That is Hawaii Mars, the Martin JRM Mars water bomber that lives on Sproat Lake BC. They are making fantastic time, they have 350 miles to go.

I have a friend who will be there monday or tuesday.

                Nice 180, or is it a 185?

This was the only stagger I saw after I said I'd grab a pic.

Staggerwings are sweet. There is one local to me that is stunning, and hasn't been seen by anyone in decades.

Man, its been a hard month for warbirds. Rod Lewis's A20 Havoc lost an engine enroute to Oshkosh, Silver Dragon lost an engine earlier in the month, got it fixed then lost both, both props, and now the nose section. A Yak 11 that was going to be racing at Reno in September caught fire and burned to the ground enroute to Oshkosh. One of 3 flyable Lockheed PV2 Harpoons lost an engine earlier in the month (Although that engine did sit for 18 years without being pickled.) Another OnMark A26 Invader project lost its engine after a single run at idle. (it ran great, they shut it down, came back the following day and it was seized.)

I hope this trend gets better.

Lets not forget the P47 that pilot made an attempt to ditch in the Hudson river back in May.

Was a friend of my wife, never meet him. The Plane has been recovered and it is being fixed. Pilot did not make it.
