normally if you just start yelling shit into the phone like "human, person, agent" or something like that they will hook you up . i think it helps if you sound really pissed off. it doesnt always work but i always do it. god i hate the lack of human interaction and total disregard of customer service

HAHA i so know how this shit is. The last time I tried to contact customer service for my best buy card I just about shot myself from pure fucking aggravation. The automated phone services were almost convenient, you can press a number to get just about anything, but not one button will get you to a human being. I think I would have a better chance at getting my salad tossed by my phone before they would transfer me to a human in India. I just started mashing all the buttons and bam, please wait while we send you to a representative. T-mobile is worse, its all voice recognition shit and half the time it doesn't understand you. I will usually should obscenities into the phone until i get someone.

Sorry to the suckers that fell into the capitol one deathtrap. From what i understand they do not actually make their money giving people credit like most other credit card companies. They make their money from selling your personal information to third party companies when you fill out all your personal information. Fucking schiesters.

I have my car loan for my Trailblazer through Capitol One auto finance.

I got a great rate, but they charge $9.95 a month to automatically withdraw it from my checking. WTF is with that?

From what I have heard, you can attach those prepaid envelopes to packages weighing up to like 70 lbs. or something? I don't remember the exact weight, but is definitely a rewarding way to get back at them.

People were doing this with Dell when the new Inspirons with the colored lids came out. Dell was having massive shortages of the colored lids, and people's orders were taking sometimes 2-4 months to arrive. People were calling and bitching and getting shit like $300 off the price of their laptop, free, extra batteries, free printers, free extended warranties, all kinds of shit.

I don't have any credit cards, people say I should get one to build my credit, but those same people are usually in debt.

I've always done that too, I sent off a broken Tstat, smashed pieces of rusted exhaust piping and various other car parts I needed to throw away anyway. Capital one sends me 3-4 applications per week. Maybe I'll start sticking dog poo in the envelopes and they'll get the idea that I don't want this shit?

Would you pay more for it? Most people wont. That is why they do it.

I finally quit. I just don't check it, I don't care if they charge me money, I'm not paying. Randomly though I just got a $20 check in the mail from capital one. I have no idea what this $20 is or what its for, but I cashed it.
I guess reading is overrated if you aren't in real college...

the check you cashed was entering a contract for the protection fee program. duuuuh. I rip up a Chase check like once a month. avoid them like the plague, along with Capitol One.

I <3 BMW Financial card though.

If you want to build credit with a credit card, this is what you do. Get one, but keep it at home. Every month, pay one bill with it, but make it the same bill every month. Power, gas, cell phone, whatever. Pay the bill with the credit card on Monday, and on Friday, mail a check to the credit card company for the amount of the bill you just paid. That way you're paying off what you charged right after it hits your card, in full. You avoid interest charges, and you don't carry a balance. Activity of this kind looks STELLAR to credit monitoring bureaus, and it will skyrocket your credit rating.

Heeter, what's the interest rate and what not like with the BMW Financial card? Have you had it for a while? My wife and I just recently consolidated and paid off all of our debt, and are looking for a good card to do basically what I described above with. I have a Capital One card, but I'm not really happy with it.

No idea on interest - never paid it nor paid attention. They send me a preapproved and I took it. BMWCCA member and whatever made them send me it. I had it for 2 years or so... just got renewed this month.

Wow, I was doing it wrong all this time. Thanks for showing me the right way to do it!

The USPS says that you can use a postage-paid envelope attached to any object or package (no dead animals, bombs, etc.) as long as it weighs no more than 72 lbs

How does the postage paid part of it work? Do they have to pay for it when they receive it?

I'm asking because what if you used one of those envelopes to ship something you needed to ship? I.E. - Instead of paying to ship something, use one of these with a label (with the address of who you want to send it to) over their address. Would the person you sent it to then have to pay?

They would need to have an account, it is billed to them when it is shipped. You couldn't do it that way unfortunately as it would be awesome to ship stuff on someone else's dime.
