Toyota in Nascar

I might have been asleep for a while when it comes to auto sports but when did they allow Japanese cars into NASCAR? I always thought that if it didn't come from a Big-3 U.S. auto maker, you didn't see it on the circuit.

YOTA has been in NASCAR truck racing for several years now and in the cup series since the beginning of 2007. They entered the series because of a rule that the manufacture can enter NASCAR after producing model vehicles in the USA after so many years.

What chassis are they going to use vs the Taurus? The Camry chassis? Or will it be the Avalon chassis?

The taurus doesn't exist anymore. It hasn't in nascar for a while.
And they are using the Camry.
Also I bet they don't consistanly crack oil pans during the yellow. Then again, there aren't many road turtles on 45 degree banking;)

Good. Show those hillbillies how it's done. It's just a big exclusive hillbilly clique. Listen for awhile while actually watching and you'll be amazed at the amount of family, child hood buddies, etc that are together in Nascar....

Toyota WILL win a bunch in Nascar and will win a championship. They just won't quit until they do. No matter the cost.

On that note, the same "Hillbillies" are running most of the Toyota stuff as well. Just because the car company changes, doesn't mean the people behind the curtian do.

I wear a Chelsea jersy once a week. Ever looked at a premiership soccer jersey? Does that make me a redneck? Or how bout my braves hat or my Falcons sticker on my car? Oh shit, I have a University Of Georgia flag in my front yard! People root for all kinds of sports, why is a dale jr shirt any different?

Btw Waltrip had a ton of influence on the decision. And he can outdrive you any day of the week, in a taxicab shaped like a pickup, or your e30.

Yeah, Waltrip was instrumental in getting the Tundra into the truck series, I think he was first to sign on to start a team around a Toyota too. Remember when Dodge came back to NASCAR?
