Am I the only one that has never understood nascar? Put these fuckers on the ring and lets see what happens. They are like supermodels - they can only turn one direction.

I don't watch NASCAR but everyone in my class loves it. I just keep telling them how awesome toyota is and how american cars suck. They get all mad, it was really fun when I told them all day how amazing kyle busch is because he won in a toyota, and how toyotas are more american than ford and GM.

My point exactly. Some of these guys act like it's their brother or best friend on the track..................And a hardcore fan is SO easy to get fired up. As we have seen.

No you are not the only one. But the marketing scheme works. And if you want to be a big name driver you have to be in nascar..............

FWIW IMO Nascar could be really good if they did a few things. A points system similar to F1 or the old CART. Only since there is 43 cars award points down to 20th spot. Poll is awarded points, and leading the most laps is awarded points. But make them a more signifigant portion of the alotted points. By paying only 20 spots points you eliminate all the banged up Junk racing on the track, just to score a few points.

Add about 5 road races to the schedule.... And another short track venue of some kind....

I don't get why you can't be a fan of motorsports in general and enjoy a cup/truck or Bush (nationwide) race just as much if not more than a follow the leader F1 race, the WWF of motorsports Moster Jam, American LeMans, Ausi V8, AMA super cross, rally, run offs, etc....

OK how about if I rephrase to say if you want to be a big name driver in North America.

I defend nascar for a reason. You don't need to know it. You shouldn't get upset about it. Like you said, it is a family and friend race series.

The ironic thing is that Toyota has taken a back seat (or a few!) behind BMW, Honda, Ford, and Mazda when it comes to road racing. In fact, what exciting sports car has Toyota produced lately? The Scion Tc = what a joke!

Heck, even Hyundai is producing more exciting cars than Toyota.

                        Toyota is the new Buick.

For purposes of full disclosure, beside liking BMW and Ford products, I'm also a Honda fanboi. There's an unwritten rule that Honda fanboys can never have anything good to say about a Toyota ;)

Speaking of Toyota and NASCAR, check out the graffitti on the wall at California Speedway:

I chuckle whenever I see this. I'll be there next weekend and I'll check if they painted over it.

I'd say a real exciting car hasn't been built since the Supra. The MR2 spyder was decent, starting material, but really lacked HP.

I don't see much from Honda cept the S2K, and STOCK Si, civics are OK too I guess.

My ex-gf's dad raced nascar for a while, and her little bro is starting from the bottom and working up the different series levels.

I got into it. I'm a huge fan of f1, ALMS, BTCC, WRC, etc... but I have to give Nascar some props too.

Fuck the haters - I bought tickets to the Fontana race at the end of August in LA -and My buddy has a spare ticket to the nascar race at infineon that I might attend as well.

Getting some hard on about putting a Nascar driver on an auto-x course is dumb - they specialized in a specific type of racing, just like the autox driver does.

Also - the average autox driver doesn't have the coin to run anything near a nascar Sprint level team (NW tour, SoCal tour cars, etc) so you're comparing apples to oranges. and if they do have the coin, why aren't they running in a road race series? A lapping day is 10x more fun than any autox.

You talk seriously high -and-mighty for a guy running an 88 iS in an autox series. Get out of third gear for a change; life is more exciting above 60 mph.

I don't know your circumstances or how good you are, but it really doesn't matter. You epitomize the asshole road-racing foreign car driver that most people think are D-bags based on the attitude you have been displaying here.
