I understand. And it would make you 86 - which is only like 10 years off.

IIRC 18-20 hours. Unfortunately the 1600 will not make it.

Kelly's Heroes is a classic war comedy, and Alls quiet on the Western Front, Saving Private Ryan and Platoon are probably three of my favorite war movies. Enemy at the Gates.....I hate just because of how bad the ending is, wish they would have made it historical and badass instead.

I'm an aviation guy, so my favorite would have to be "Twelve O'Clock High.

It's a classic that came out 4 years after the end of WWII but so much of it is relevant to military leadership, discipline, and bearing even today. It's used in many officer training programs today! Plus, it has some good actual aerial combat footage. It doesn't have the bling that a lot of newer war movies have but it does have a meaningful and thoughtful storyline that most newer war movies do not have.

I like the more realistic ones. The Eastwood and Wayne movies were always too much propaganda.

Speaking of propaganda, anyone seen Steiner?

Hey h0lmes. Full Metal Jacket is SO MUCH FUCKING better than Platoon.

Best war movie ever, though? Hard to say, I don't think I have a favorite. I like them all.
