seriously, he would give up on the society of his people now. They don't have the suffering and strife they did then, they aren't being oppressed, and yet they seem to maintain the exact same trends as then, I don't know... it isn't like it's 100% of people, but most people in bad situations just continue to use it as an excuse and not a reason to get motivated and do something. MLK was a great enough motivator to get a generation off its ass, but as soon as the fire was out they just sat right back down.Comment

He was a more effective martyr. If he had lived it would have likely fizzled without carrying the impact over to subsequent generations. Being dead he cant be defamed now so he is a better figurehead of the civil rights movements.
