    2. You pull a gun. You surprise the gunman, and you kill him, his buddy with pepper spray gets you and before you can recover from it he grabs his buddy's gun and empties it into your head for the aggravation of killing his friend

    3. You kill the first guy, get a few shots off at the second, but most likely miss and then one of the other 2 guys pulls on you and kills you

    4. You kill the first guy, in your haste, through the adrenaline, haze, excitement, and firing without properly aiming a gun built to not be aimed (you're telling me you can accurately aim a gun that's so small it doesn't look like a gun??) you manage to off the pepper spray guy without him spraying you first, then still have enough bullets left over to kill the other 2 guys, who are miraculously unarmed and still standing there.

tell me which is the smartest? which is the most likely to occur? He's in the military, and they kinda teach this stuff, but he said he's an intel analyst. They might be the most important rate in the Navy, but they aren't trained for close-quarters combat. Hell, when I went through the limited training they give us, they told us not to do something brash and stupid, particularly pull a gun. And these were ex- Marine Corps Force Recon guys.
So you think some crackhead kid's would have the ball's not to run away once they saw the person they were trying to rob had a gun and was SHOOTING at them. A situation like this happen's in like 40 secs top. I can fire and reload 2 clip's in that time easy. Keep being a sheep and letting the police REACT to crime and not stop it, Ill take my chance's. The only time Ive had to pull my gun was on some stupid "Gangster's" downtown here and they shut the fuck up and got away from me and my chick and my car. Have fun getting walked all over your whole life.

And if you had any idea on what you were talking about you would realize there are products made for this type of setup.

      2. If I did what I described I might be lying on the floor dead, as you mentioned. But the last thing a thief is expecting one to pull out is a gun when all he has on his mind is your wallet. And trust me by the time he realized what it was I would have got off at least two rounds immediately.

The last thing that is going to happen to me is die without putting up a big fight for my life period. After almost being carjacked years ago I realized that I am not going to be killed for some crack/meth addicts BS without at least putting up a fight. That is why I now have a concealed or open carry gun permit and do not leave home without it. EVER !!

Its ok, not everyone can be the Sheppard... ;)

Just be thankful for citizens like myself who will stand up to these types of crimes and do something about it so the next thief will think three times about doing it to someone else.

Give me a break. Sheppard? Sheep? It is clear that you and pinepig have never been in a situation like this before. You should be thankful you weren't carrying when you "almost got carjacked" (??), you'd probably be dead. What you describe is what a stupid person would do. You're not Jason Bourne, and it's a really bad idea to pull a gun out on someone who has one cocked and ready in your chest. Do you carry your gun with a round in the chamber and the safety off? I really hope not.

Why should I be thankful for people like you? You are clearly the kind that doesn't employ any kind of rational thinking, and you may be the last person that should carry.

Frankly, I'm here today because I didn't make a dumb ass decision like the one you describe.

I clearly have been in a situation before as I mentioned with the car jacking. The only thing about that night was I wasn't carrying and had my doors locked and was able to just run the red light I was sitting at (first in line). But today my gun (when I am driving) sits in plain view on the center console, ready to go.

The whole point is if my life is in danger I am not just going to hope the idiot just takes my stuff and leaves. As a lot of the time not only do they rob you but they still shoot you as well. So I am not going to stand around to see if that happens since I have the permit to take care of it myself as I see fit.

Yes I do carry my gun chambered, as a gun unchambered does you NO good. That and you obviously do not know guns as all Glocks have internal safeties built into the trigger. And my .22 pocket gun is one click from being ready to shoot.

You should be thankful for citizens like myself as if you were in a life and death situation, that our permits also allow us to take care of those situations as well.

It's obvious you are here today as you have never been in a life and death situation before. And had to make a decision, maybe even the dumbass one I described (as you state), but until you have experienced such violence first hand you really have no clue what you are talking about.

Frankly trying to explain this to you any further is a waste of my time, as it is obvious you are a democrat. You need to just go about your life and not worry about gun toting law abiding citizens, since you might need us one day, and go back to eating tofu and whatever else it is you do.

Atomic, you need not make assumptions; they're 100% wrong. I am nowhere near a democrat, I HAVE been in held at gun point, and I am a gun owner. I would not hesitate to defend myself, my house, my friends or family with it either. And I know a gun without a chambered round is worthless (I was wondering if you carried it without the safety; seems you know better).

I was simply saying that if a crack head caught me off guard and had a gun in my chest, I would not make an attempt to pull my gun out, release the safety and get a shot off. Common sense tells me that the crack head has nothing to lose, and he probably wouldn't hesitate to put one in my chest. You must have the presence of mind to know when it is smart to use it, and when you don't have a chance. There are right times and wrong times to use your weapon; it seems you can't differentiate between the two.

Unarmed Park Ranger on the shitty side of San Jose for 10 years, so most of my " situations " that you would consider bad were actually worse. Attitude goes along way. Thankfully I don't do that anymore, I teach morons how to fly now, are you looking to get a pilots license.

BTW the Khar has no safety, it's DAO and carried with one in the pipe.

having been a student pilot back in the day (and about to become one again), and I have a lot of friends who are flight instructors... maybe you should have stuck with Park Ranger. Probably a lot less people trying to kill you- at least it's not your job to let people try as a park ranger.
