thats the worst idea of a host ive ever heard, might as well have Howard Stern do it.

They usually have full episodes linked (via torrents) within an hour or two after the show airs.

Top gear is on every monday night with several back to back on BBC America (dish channel 135, Directv is channel 264). This is the full U.S. bashing english humor version.

I hope that's just your idea of a sick joke....I'll take no Top Gear before that option.

The US market and mindset of car consumers and enthusiasts are quite a contrast from the European crowd, not sure what could be done to make it a success but they can't do a carbon copy of the UK version.....it just won't fly here. As for a host, you'd think they would try to recruit someone like Jerry Seinfeld or Jay Leno. Both are true-blue car guys with a decent sense of humor.

Not sure who else would be a worthy candidate for such as series. Lastly, I certainly hope they don't try to do a 'reality tv' type of format. Those just suck.

                      ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^

In case you didnt know they did try to get both Leno an Seinfeld but both said nope, now they are down to Carrola

another problem is you will hear nothing of how crappy a crappy car is. Because they might get sued or lose some advertising dollars.

Not that I like the guy or anything but Adam Corolla is a die hard gear head. He owns and drives a BRE Datsun 510 for christ sake. The man loves cars as much or more than anyone here.

The top gear format will never work in the advertiser driven US system. It will be watered down to a show with "motor week" type reviews with bad scripted joke segments.
