Hey man, I'm glad your representing the good ole Vols in all your pictures.

Again, let me know if you ever need anything. I'm right off 17th St. in the fort and just a phone call away (shoot me a pm and I'll pass my number along).

I saw you say that you're a govt. contractor. Where are you working/working on? I'm up here working on the Watts Bar Unit 2 Completion with Bechtel.

You're within walking distance of where I get my chemo treatment at Thompson.

I am a govt' contractor but where I work is bigger than Watts Bar and much much more secure so I can't really give out much information on what I do and where I do it at.

I see Watts Bar, and then I think Oak Ridge.

True Robert. That is completely true. I didn't fully think about that.

I started it this morning. Pills this time; the same as I had when this all started and I had to go in for daily radiation zaps. This time though I'm taking the full dose. Back then it was just 50% and it wore me out pretty quickly. I've had half a dose today and I can feel it already. Seven days on, seven days off. Good thing I got the new drivers seat finished this weekend.
What sucks most is -I- have to take them. At least when I was getting the drip all I had to do was get stuck and then sit there. With these, I have to get the pills out and swallow them on my own knowing what they'll do to me. The temptation to "miss" a dose is going to be horrible. So much for the next three months. :(

Keept hangin in on there for us Skotaku !:)

It's all good... for the most part. I'm not quite sure how long I'll really be on this stuff though. We were talking three months but my onc only 'scripted me for 14 days worth; two weeks on with a week off in between and no refills. I guess I will bring that up with her on the 15th when we meet next.

Meanwhile, I've got my buddy's 911 Turbo S cabriolet for the next two weeks while he's in LA.

Yeah. That'll keep my mind on other things!

                      Robert -
Hello to you. I have a similar situation as you, although I got bombarded at the Dr.

I went in for a recurring nerve issue, that stemmed from a broken neck in 2003. I have perm. nerve damage in my left arm/hand. I started having widespread numbness, so I went back to the neurologist.
He sent me in for an MRI on my neck. The MRI revealed much, much more..
When I returned for the results, I found out that:
                      1. I have two collapsed discs (above where the original fusion is)
                      2. 2 Anurisms at the base of my brain
                      3. high blood pressure
                      4. Cyst on my Thryoid (possibly cancerous.)

So I went for an ultrasound on the thryoid, as well as getting put on Lisanopril for my high BP.
After the ultrasound, they scheduled a biopsy, which occurred a week ago, yesterday.
At that time, they found another 'nodule' on my larynx, so I'm scheduled for another biopsy in August.

I'm 40, married, and 3 children. I haven't mentioned the larynx part to my wife yet, because she'll become a total wreck; she's already freaked out, as it is.

Keep a positive vibe going. It'll all work out! :)

Here's praying for a benign biopsy results.

If it helps ease your mind I know 6 people who have had thyroid cancer (all about your age)or pre-cancerous thyroids removed. Both my mother, aunt, step dad, best friend's dad, and 2 co-workers had it. All of them are alive and well. The good news is that Thyroid cancers are VERY treatable. Usually a 2-3hr surgery and MAYBE some radiation if it's a stage III or IV. The only incovenience is that you will have to take a thyriod hormone pill the rest of your life. Thyroid cancer was my second guess so I researched it and Hodgkin's extensively.
