So true...weird thing, mom found it and the surgeon sceduled 4 weeks out. The lump went from 1cm to 4cm. Definately push because its your life they are potentially messing up.

I'm not sure how many Christians frequent the board but I've always considered myself to be one. Maybe not the best but I believe. I know God won't give me anything I cannot handle and what doesn't kill me will only make me stronger.

My mom was diagnosed with breast cancer in december and is now going through chemo.

Although a good support group is a great tool when you feel lonely or down, YOU need to want to survive this. A positive outlook is a MUST. You will go through different stages, my mom is getting passed the "why me" stage and is starting to get in the fighting stage. Her positive attitude amazes me.

I have went to chemo with her and there are many that you can tell have just given up. They look just beaten. Its been 4 months thus far for my mom and yes she has her bad times and good time but YOU will get through it.

Hang in the man, and things will get better it just might be a hard long fight getting the victory. Good luck and I'll keep you and Vedub in my prayers.

hey man, I wish you the best. I am fighting leukemia myself. I found out last fall. It is truly scary but find a good support group. Being young your body is able to fight much harder than say someone my age or even older. If you ever want to talk, let me know. I know how lonely it is. I just got out of the hospital this week from a fall out!


Just keep your head up and always think, that you have it and that it does not have you!

You'll be alright man. 1990 was a long time ago. Things have improved 100 fold. I'm sure it doesn't mean much - but I'm posting from an imaging center in a building full of oncologists. The only people who have a hard time with things are the ones who find out they have it when it's stage 3 metastatic. Keep at it man. It may not be easy but it will work out.

It started with on dime sized lymph node in my left clavical area. I went to the doctor immediately. It eventually made 2 other lymph nodes swell and I had to persistly push the doctors to do the biopsy because they kept wanting to try different antibiotics. My blood cell count and tests kept coming back perfectly fine so they kept telling me there was no need to do a biopsy.

My hopes are the good blood tests indicate that the lymphoma is located just in that one area.

I'm seeing a Dr. Grapski at Thompson Cancer Center here in Knoxville. From what I understand he's pretty good doctor but I'll be sure to to check for the ACR accreditation.

My Grandfather had the disease when he was 55 and survived 12 years before it came back and he refused treatment. But that was in 1990 and from what I gather treatment has come along way since then.

I'm still scared to death. I just graduated in May and now that I finally got a decent paying job I'm going to get slaughtered by medical bills.

How far along is it? Find yourself a good oncologist. The good news is it's all treatable these days. Be sure any imaging centers you go to are ACR Accredited.
