Good luck, Robert! It's definitely good you caught it when you did. I hope you get better! -
Good luck man. Good thing is that you caught it when you did and you pushed your doctors to do something. You and your family will be in my thoughts and prayers.Leave a comment:

Speaking of, if you decide you need a second opinion let me know. I dont know her personally but I can refer you to the woman that did my grandad's treatment. She did her residency or whatever at MD Anderson. She treated him in Memphis.Robert,
Find the best cancer hospital in your area: such as a large University center with a well known cancer program. Local, regional healthcare is not the best when it comes to treating something like this. You need to be your own advocate in matters like this and take charge, no one else will.

Good luck man. Im sure you will be fine. They have really gotten much better at it (especially if you catch it early). While he is still only a year or so out my granddad just got by it with some great medical care and the only way you can tell is his lack of hair (didnt really have much left to begin with). If they can get an old man through that easily Im sure a young, healthy guy like you will fight it even better.Leave a comment:

im really sorry to hear this man. cancer seems to touch everyone in one way or another. there is nothing i hate worse than cancer. it took my dad way too young. hit it hard and stay positive. you have youth and early detection on your side. stay positive and im thinking about you. youre going to be fineLeave a comment:

Im sorry to hear that man. It makes me want to go have a physical and make sure everythings ok with me. Im sure you'll pull through this. Getting past the "Why me?" or "Why us?" is the main step. I was like that probably the first 4 to 5 months after my Fiance was in a car accident and lost her left arm above the elbow. I still get like that a little, but ever since I got past that, things have been a much easier battle. I know its a different situation, totally apples and oranges. But its the only real insight I can share on something life altering. I wish you the best.Leave a comment:

Thanks everyone. I definately plan to power through.
I'm not sure how many Christians frequent the board but I've always considered myself to be one. Maybe not the best but I believe. I know God won't give me anything I cannot handle and what doesn't kill me will only make me stronger.
Let this be a lesson to anyone who feels that something is "no quite right". No matter what the doctors tell you always push for a definate answer. If I had taken the first prognosis of Cat Scratch Fever I would have waited even longer before I had this biopsy.
As a fellow christian (perhaps a bit of a sideways one.. but still know where my beliefs lay), You and your family will be in my prayers buddy. Stay strong and keep a good attitude :)Leave a comment:

Wow - that is unfortunate news. Good on you for continuing to ask your doctor about it and trying other tests to get a proper diagnosis. I know we tend to be a bunch of hard asses but rest assured we're all keeping a good thought for you. Hang in there ;-)
