No longer stock ride height, rolling as low as a daily driver in New England should without worrying about breaking an oil pan.

as a staunch republican (with moderate tendencies) I fully support crash-test ratings. They can ensure you stay safe inside a vehicle designed to keep you safe, but how you use it, when you buy it, etc. should be your decision.

I've seen that video before...... And it had a drastically different story attached to it.

Supposedly it was a decommissioned road crew vehicle that was pulled due to body rot, and the testing facility used it as their first "victim" to demo the new test rig. It was said to have been going 130 km/h and loaded with a ton of weight in the back.

Granted, either story is as verifiable as the other one (not at all, at least with the amount of effort I'm willing to put forth) But considering that there's no crash test dummies, and its obviously an old Vanagon.....

          That's not a Vanagon, that's a Transporter.

              Bingo.

Notice no dummies in the vehicle, and the huge amount of weight in the back. It's a test of the catapult, not the truck. Why would someone think that's "chinese"? Especially on a German car forum?
