Heh, I had the same attitude about my PS2 when I was looking at the 40GB PS3. The PS3 has so many more capabilities than the PS2. Between the fully functional free internet, the ability to store music/videos/pictures, and the Blu Ray player; it's much more advanced than the PS2.

Exactly, that's what I don't get. Why would you want to play the old games that don't look anywhere near as good as the PS3?

Oh and buy a Denon upconverting DVD player, I've got around 250-275 DVD's and it makes the majority of them look really fucking good.

In terms of the upconversion business with DVDs and comparing them to blu-ray quality, I can say first hand that there is a very noticable difference between a blu-ray movie and a DVD upscaled to 1080p. It's not to say that the DVD looks bad, it's just that the blu-ray looks significantly better IMO. With that said, I don't think I would re-purchase a movie on blu-ray that i already owned on DVD unless it had some really incredible effects that could benefit from the clarity of blu-ray.

As far as "good things come to those who wait". Thats how it goes with technology, everything gets cheaper. The extra $300 I paid is wort the year plus earlier I got my PS3 than those whoe are waiting til now.

Meh, not so much that I miss my PS2 games, I just miss being able to drive the Nurburgring on GT4. Hopefully GT5 will have that as one of the featured tracks.

not sure if this has been mentioned yet, but you can use any laptop hard drive to swap for the ps3 one.

but it does void the one year manufacturer's warranty, because you have to break the sticker to take the hard drive out

Hard drive size matters nothing to me, personally. All I save is my Madden and MLB The show profile. Im sure its less than a MB. I wouldnt fuck with the warranty. Sony is the shit when it comes to fixing your stuff for free.

^ Agreed. I've been storing most of my musak collection on the PS3 so I can listen to it via 5.1. But I doubt I'll get close to the 40GB limit.
