One of the best books of any kind I've ever read. I was a little hesitant to embrace the idea of a film adaptation, but holy shit if that trailer didn't change my mind. Not that I care, of course.

If it was any other director, I wouldn't be as excited. But after seeing what Frank Miller could do behind a camera with Sin City and 300, both comic adaptations, I knew I wouldn't be disappointed. I cannot anticipate this movie being bad.Comment

Dude, It's Dave Gibbons and Alan Moore. Not Frank Miller.
Zack Snyder directed Frank Miller's 300.Not that I care, of course.

Alan Moore never talks to anyone anymore, and Zack Snyder's direction of Watchmen is almost sacrilege.
But there's nothing stopping me from tasting the forbidden fruit and cutting in line to be first to sit down in front of the Watchmen movie. Not that I care, of course.

Let me correct myself. Alan Moore talks to people to talk about the fact that he doesn't talk to anyone anymore. Not that I care, of course.

I've only skimmed the surface of the comic world, and actually Watchmen being as good as it is, I've really had a hard time getting into them since I read it years ago. I mean, comics just don't get any better than that as far as I can tell. There are a few on my list to read though. I really liked old X-men back in the day, and I always wanted to direct my version of the movie. With the way comic movies are being reinvented nowadays, I might as well make it some sort of half-assed goal.
Alan Moore hated V for Vendetta, and I really liked that movie. I thought it was the Watchtowerski Bros one shot at redemption, and they pulled it off as far as Hollywood movies go. The Matrix sequels were complete shit compared to the first one. I almost walked out of Matrix Resurrection, but my ride didn't so I stayed.
I've actually never seen 300. Didn't interest me at all, and I feel like I got enough of it from seeing the trailers umpteen thousand times before the movie actually came out.Not that I care, of course.

I'm reading through it right now, really into it. Guess e-books are pretty sweet after all. :)Comment

This was a comic series 12 issues long in the 1985 or 1986 written by Alan Moore and drawn by Dave Gibbons. It is arguably the greatest comic ever written. A lot of people describe this book as a deconstruction of super heroes.
The story in short terms is about a group of super heroes that have retired and are now being murdered one by one and what some of the heroes try and do about it. Don't want to say too much in case anyone cares to read the book or watch the move.Comment
