I have a soft spot in my heart for the fox bodies. Would I ever own one...NO. Mainly because those things are always murdered to hell once you get them. NO one takes care of the things, and when they are they are so far from original they surpass HOMO status. Back in the day HELL YA...MAYBE

Fox bodies are fine, that would likely be the only "Non-GT40" Ford I would ever own. Fun as fuck to drive, cheap, LOTS of aftermarket support, WTF, why not?

I think my biggest beef would be being lumped into the "drives a mustang" crowd.

Make sure you really look over that 540 if you take a look at it. It's a good runner and the owner certainly cares about it but I think it's had a rough life over the years. It's a regular customer at my shop and we have stacks of records and for that price I don't think you'd ever regret not getting a mustang.

I would say keep the maxima as long as long as its been reliable and cheap.

But I always have loved the sound of a 5.0, one of my favorite V8 sounds.
