Ill tell you what sucks. What sucks is that people in this country are even considering voting for a man who has said he doesnt believe he needs to acknowledge our national anthem, or our flag because it is the "symbol of opression".

Hot on the heels of his explanation for why he no longer wears a flag pin,
presidential candidate Senator Barack Obama was forced to explain why he
doesn't follow protocol when the National Anthem is played.

According to the United States Code, Title 36, Chapter 10, Sec. 171......
During rendition of the national anthem when the flag is displayed, all
present except those in uniform are expected to stand at attention facing
the flag with the right hand over the heart.

'As I've said about the flag pin, I don't want to be perceived as taking
sides,' Obama said. 'There are a lot of people in
the world to whom the American flag is a symbol of oppression. And the
anthem itself conveys a war like message. You know, the b ombs bursting in
air and all. It should be swapped for something less parochial and less
bellicose. I like the song 'I'd Like to
        Teach the World to
Sing.' If that were our anthem, then I might salute it.'

Obama is a cock....enough said. That statement right there is enough for me to dislike the man. His policy just makes it that much worse.

I'll be happy to wait (even though you won't bother to back up your claim).

I'm not a liberal just because I know that John McCain SUCKS.
Why would I bother, it wouldn't change the way you think. I understand you think McLame sucks, hell I do too but you won't see me praising the Obamasiah as a fix for what's wrong with McLame. The problem I see with MCLame is he is an establishment candidate that already leans way to far on the Liberal side, voting for someone who is more Liberal is not the fix. You actually touched on it in one post when you suggested a new party, well instead of looking at the other options out there you suggested the R3V party, nice research you've done there.

I too remember how the country was when I was younger, you know like waiting in gas lines the last time the gov got involved in oil prices.

I won't be voting for McLame ( and for damn sure not the Obamasiah ) It's not that it will matter anyway as I'm in California and our large population areas will vote for hope and change. If they get what they want, the hope and change they receive will be quite different from what they expect.

By you telling us McCain sucks and you voting for the Obamasiah either means you are liberal or a fucking idiot ( I have my doubts on the former ).

Pine - Since there is no 3rd party that could relaistically win it we've got to pick between the lesser of two evils. McCain was my last choice in the primaries, but I'd take him over Obama any day of the week.

I understand completely, trust me I do. The Obamasiah is going to win Cali no matter how I vote, I'd like to see some of the third parties get matching federal funding so that's where my vote will go, if more people did this in states that were a lock for either candidate we could actually help.

I figured you understood. I live in Washington so I am in the same boat as you, but that doesn't deter me from voting McCain. I don't want this to turn into a "does my vote count" thread, but why not vote McCain just to give some pull for it over Obama?

It all depends on who runs with him for VP, I don't see somebody with McCains health making it through 4 years of the stress that being pres would put on you. If he selects a true fiscal conservative you bet your ass I'll vote for him. I'll be voting repub in all the smaller elections, we all know the power is in congress anyway.

I'm hoping for Romney. I've never been a big fan of him because he is wishy-washy, but he is a good businessman, which is what our economy needs right now. Probably wont happen though.

This is true. And he did not salute the flag and gave shit about wearing a flag pin. I can't find a reliable source about his explanation, but he can't follow the rules to honor the nation and wants to be president??

After I saw the video of him holding his crotch during the pledge, I knew he wouldn't ever be president.

No, he was in his usual blue button down and khakis. That link you posted has a link to the lack of salute posting and video of the event.

Uniformed people stand at attention with a military salute during, not hand over the heart. You're an old fart, shouldn't you know the code? Everyone ought to respect and honor the pledge, and all stand at attention with their hand somewhere besides on their penis... either on their brow if in uniform saluting or hand over their hearts - because they should love this country... not just want to run it.
