It's all the fault of the Bush administration - this is nothing you don't hear on CNN every night.

I just love this kind of stuff - nothing better than watching politicians doing what they do best: wasting time and our tax dollars. These people are acting as if Bush is running for re-election and they are doing whatever they can to get him out. In just over 3 months' time, we will know for certain who the next leader of the United States will be. Bush's actual time remaining in power is just over 5 months - he is basically in 'farewell tour' mode at this point. Trying to oust him 1, 2 or 3 months early isn't going to amount to a hill of beans. This is nothing more than a bunch of DC windbags looking for some spotlight time and have a political ax to grind.

Ditto. One guy all by himself caused the plight of a helpless nation of 300 million+.

All you Obama backers go write your precious senator. Ask him to actually show up to a vote for once, and maybe you'll get your Iraq pullout and free healthcare.

Yep anything to take the focus off of the oil prices that the liberals are getting pounded on day in and day out lately due to their position on becoming less dependent of foreign oil...

That is the key issue for the election; gas prices and the economy.

Wait...you mean that he has to vote on something?

He'd rather just be the new hip trend and run around campaigning forever. Voting on something is against the rules of his pastor...don't fall prey to the white man. Never voting will stick it to them.

I just read Obama's speech in Berlin- anyone else find it unnerving that a candidate for president of the US says that "Berlin, of all cities in the world, knows the yearning [for freedom].... New York? any number of U.S. Cities? There's much more hypocrisy in the speech, but the disparity between these two quotes should sum it up. Oh, and the fact he chose to speak to foreigners instead of visiting his countrymen who had gotten seriously wounded fighting for the country he wants to lead.

Earlier Sunday, he praised U.S. troops during breakfast with soldiers at Camp Eggers, a heavily fortified military base in the city.

"To see young people like this who are doing such excellent work, with so much dedication ... it makes you feel good about the country," Obama said.

"I want to make sure that everybody back home understands how much pride people take in their work here and how much sacrifice people are making. It is outstanding," he said in footage filmed by the military and obtained by The Associated Press.

                          http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080720/...ma_afghanistan

BERLIN - Sen. Barack Obama scrapped plans to visit wounded members of the armed forces in Germany as part of his overseas trip, a decision his campaign said was made because the Democratic presidential candidate thought it would be inappropriate on a campaign-funded journey.

A campaign adviser said the U.S. military saw the visit as a campaign stop.

                          [...(it didn't add much anyway)]

Sen. John McCain's presidential campaign immediately criticized the move.

"Barack Obama is wrong. It is never inappropriate to visit our men and women in the military," said Brian Rogers, a spokesman for the Republican contender.

Obama's decision raised a number of questions because the visit, which had been scheduled for Friday, never appeared on the schedule of events distributed to reporters who are accompanying him on his travels.

The first word from the campaign about its existence was a statement from Obama spokesman Robert Gibbs.

Obama had been planning to go to Landstuhl Regional Medical Center in Germany before a flight to Paris. Gibbs said the stop was canceled because Obama decided "it would be inappropriate to make a stop to visit troops at a U.S. military facility as part of a trip funded by the campaign."

It's funny how some people push the constitution, and anti government etc, yet when 911 happened you were able to give up every right you had......

Lets get one thing strait. This administration ALLOWED thousands of civilians going to work to be killed. Not a single REAL thing was done about that. This administration has killed thousands of young americans fighting for a lie. This administration has ruined the economy. Period, end of discussion

                              Yep.

Maybe the Fox watchers will figure it out eventually - when war and killing is no longer popular.
