I know your pain. We keep a tank at my office that has been a royal pain in the ass for the last 5 years. 400 gallon reef tank with 125 sump. It's more stable, but when things go they go. The main circulation pump crapped out over night and killed some fish. Our corals cause most of the problems. They touch and try to kill each other, like kids on a bus for too long.i'lldoitforacaravan

Heed my advice from someone who knows- You need to call ServiceMaster or some other flood restoration company. 30 gallons of fishtank water is going to smell pretty bad once the bacteria and mildew start to set in and there isn't much that you will be able to do with the shop vac. Either that or take up the carpet and throw it away. If you call them soon enough, you might be able to save the carpet but the padding has to be disposed of.
