The test involved firing 1 particle in 1 direction around the LHC. When operational, 2 particles will be fired in opposite directions, doubling their effective speed upon impact.

farbin, you seem to have far greater knowledge of this type of stuff. I understand anti matter and what not but what is an ice-9 type event?

Well the difference is with this one, the speed is just under a fraction of the speed of light, making this the fastest collider yet constructed. And, good for us, even if they do make a batch of anti-matter/dark matter, it is floating in a vacuum, hovering in a magnetic field with little chance to make contact with any "real" matter, so we should not have much to worry about.

Except, if at the millisecond the anti-matter is made and someone detonated an EMP, shutting down the magnetic field, dropping the atom of anti-matter, coming into contact with the bottom of the collider, making for an ice-9 type event.

They tested it last night. Joey's GF was freaked out all night, she was afraid the world was gonna end

But we're still here, so I guess all is well

The full operation will be October 21. Interesting that October 22 is

Sweet, the world will end on my birfday.

I read an article yesterday stating that micro black holes are probable - but they only last like a fraction of a second.

I still don't get what it does, something about Higgs Bosson Physics element.
concerns have been raised yes - by fucking morons. everyone with only 3 functioning brain cells is scared shitless. ;)

FFS. nothing bad is going to happen. Just the usual media trick of stirring up shit to make the story more interesting.
Human race would be still be wearing loin cloths and living in caves if they stopped experiments like this because a few nut jobs had "a bad feeling"
