When I was taking music lessons in HS (2 yrs ago) John Engelkes, my private teacher, was mentioned in the album credits as he was a trombonist for the SanFrancisco Symphony at the time. That was back in 2000. When I was in a lesson, I asked john if he ever listened to Metallica when he was younger, he said he got to play with them in a live recording with the Symphony. I was left in disbelief.
How fucking crazy is that, it goes to show that Bay Area musicians don't move around too much.
Metallica man, they set a new generation of metalheads, helping start the metal genre. I'm skeptical about this new album, im sure it won't be ground breaking but at least they'll be writing new material.
the way to do this is buy the album (download it for free!) and listen to it expecting that it is going to be absolute shit! then you can't be disappointed at all. thats what i do when i have to go see bad movies with chicks or the family and some times i am mildly surprised that i end up not wanting to shoot my self at the end! that said i hope this album rocks my world as much as master of puppets and and justice for all!

Load and Reload are ok in my book. I just grew up listening to the black album over and over and over again. First cassette tape and CD i ever bought. haven't listened to the black album in seriously like 7 or 8 years though
