This thread was to begin with putting people on notice that another big storm is headed to an area that is still affected 3 years from a storm that leveled that area.

I offered my family house for any R3v member to be able to stay to wait out the storm. Please allow this bickering to go to another thread. Anyone that might need my help, might think twice because of this thread..... and things that I might have said in the past. But its out of the kindness of my heart knowing first hand what they went though to offer this. Some people dont have a backup plan and the members I have met here on R3v have always been first class and now its my turn to return the favor!

Thanks for the gesture. Shit, I'm honestly not expecting it to be that bad. ALL day at work we have been securing shit because "We're all going to die" from this stupid hurricane. A CAT3 honestly isn't that bad, or at least from what I have been through.
People are going nuts around here. The refineries have stopped sending out fuel trucks to the gas stations, stopped at 4 PM yesterday, so they wouldn't lose money from having wasted gas in the tanks of, possibly, destroyed gas stations. People have started selling 8500W generators that normally go for $500 for $1500. These idiots think it's the end of the world. It's HILARIOUS!

Im glad everyone gets to play GOD. Remember Andrew was a CAT1 100 miles off the coast of Miami. With in a few hours built up and struck in early morning as one of the strongest storms ever to hit land. CAT5! Though Andrew was small in size and there was not much rain with it. IF you saw the damage first hand you would take warning when anything like this is headed your way.

Its funny most that can predict the Category of this or any storm has not been though one first hand. Hurricanes in low sea level areas are no joke. Its not just the water surge, sustained winds up to 130mph for hours on end. Its the change of direction of winds as the eye wall moves over. Everything that was bent one way is now forced the other way. Tornadoes spinning from these storms striking in multiple numbers and then the aftermath. The no power, no water, no help for days if not weeks on end. Andrew was no power for 2 months. Food and water lines for 12+ hours standing in lines city blocks long. No way to leave, no way to communicate, no medical or police help. Your on your own. Neighborhoods take turns watching each other and salvaging anything that could be found for shelter, food, water.

In all it sucks, and sucks really big. Cat 1 or 2 no biggie. Few days with out power is like camping but when your out of resources for weeks and have not taken a shower in forever. Heat touching 90+ degrees and humidity up the ass. Floating fire ant beds and alligators swimming down your street is not cool either.
