When Reagan was at the end of his last term, he just didn't show up in public often. When he did, he read from a teleprompter with 5 lbs. of makeup on his face. He didn't talk to the press and the public didn't really know if he had Alzheimer's or not.
Like I said, McCain has smoked 2 packs/day for most of his life. It's not only that he may die. There is a significant chance he would be bedridden for a long time with any type of illness. Depending on his state of mind, Palin may have to go around in VP/limp-mode acting for McCain.
My dad who was 69 was fine last Feb. and died in April. Shit happens.Last edited by ragged325; 09-12-2008, 06:17 PM.

And shit happens and Obama could die too. People his age die all the time. I'm just saying, people walk around like McCain is gonna keel over at his next speech. They said the same thing about Cheney 8 years ago too (heart attack waiting to happen). People do die, I understand that, but you act like it is a sure thing he will die in the next 4 years.sigpic

You cant seriously be attempting to rationalize thatOriginally posted by ebelementsAlso, for those who don't know, negative camber is the greatest thing since sliced bread(panera). Even tire wear is for city busses and the elderly.

I'm not trying to rationalize anything or say that the chance of Obama dying in office (not counting assassination, which sucks that we even have to think that) is equal to McCain. I am just trying to say that people are overreacting about the possibility that McCain will die in office. 1/3...Matt Damon is a dumbass.sigpic

Now this inexperienced niave lady is going to talk foreign policy. She is a expert already. What a joke.
Sarah Palin talks tough with ABC TV
GOP Vice Presidential nominee Sarah Palin said today the Ukraine and Georgia should join NATO, even at the risk of antagonizing Russia and forcing the United States into a war with the nuclear-armed nation.
The truth which is that Georgia made the strike by ordering a cross border raid into neighboring Ossatia. Which as they knew is a Russian state and had a full complement of military in the area and supported the rebels that Georgia attacked. While the whole truth is that the rebels had previously made their own cross border raid to antagonize the Georgians. She makes it sound like little Georgia was all defenseless and the big bad Russian bear attacked them for no reason at all. Regardless of who started this little tit for tat mess, which to be honest was provoked by the Ossetia rebels with the backing of the Russian military, we as a nation have much bigger problems to deal with. And do not need to be wasting resources on a problem that was self provoked.
"What I think is that smaller democratic countries that are invaded by a larger power is something for us to be vigilant against," she said. "We have got to be cognizant of what the consequences are if a larger power is able to take over smaller democratic countries."
Palin is just riding the coat tails she has no clue what the hell is going on or even whats ahead of her if she gets elected.Last edited by peerless; 09-12-2008, 10:04 PM.

Lying bitch.
She will say anything. Think that has something to do with McCain has cancelled a bunch of her public appearances this week?
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
This isn't news worthy at all. It is a non-issue. It is part of the "All Barack Channel" blitz. The travel was approved routinely, and then when the intent was discover, it was cancelled. Anybody who worked for me who tried to pull off shit like that would get fired too. The facts are in there if you want to read past the wording and spin applied by ABC.
Try to focus on reality and facts not the implications left hanging by the wording use. Wow... it's such a shame that people can't see through this kind of thing.
I think it is funny how the Democrats and the media have focused in on Palin. She isn't running for President. They keep comparing her to Obama... why? Again, she isn't running for President.
My opinion is that they are scared. Here is a woman who holds many traditional ideas yet is intelligent and successful in a "man's world". This goes against everything that the Dem's have been telling us for years. Only less evolved and less intelligent women believe in the family and traditional values because those values are just there to hold women down from the Dem's perspective. She breaks those rules and will most likely be the first woman to be on a winning Presidential ticket. The Dems hate that and are trying everything they can to discredit her. She is destroying years and years of doctrine for the Dems and I think it is very funny.1987 E30 325is

"I'm not informed enough on it. Let me find out. You know, I'm sure I've taken a position on it in the past. I have to find out what my position was. Brian, would you find out what my position is on contraception -- I'm sure I'm opposed to government spending on it, I'm sure I support the president's policies on it."
Are you freaking kidding me?

“ In The New Dare to Discipline,” Dobson “blames the supposed crumbling of ‘moral values’ and [the] ‘anarchy that is now rumbling through the midsection of democracy’ on working mothers and ‘permissiveness.’” Jim Daly, president and CEO of Focus on the Family, cheered the fact that fewer women aim to be working moms, “a reflection,” he says, “of a renewed realization that nothing is more important than being there for your kids.”
Permissiveness? Like "knocked-up teen daughter" kind of permissiveness? Abstinence-only education FTL!

Lots of women have been "breaking the rules" for years because they have to. Palin hasn't planted a flag on a new planet. There have been women in Congress since 1917!
